Maichel says Hi from The Netherlands
Hi there my name is Maichel 37 Years old and i live in The Netherlands.
Married Wit Lisa and proud daddy of a 4 months old daughter called Kayleigh (yes from the song)
Since four months owner of a daddy toy becuase the wife took the Renault....no problem.
Went to look for a nice substitute for the Renault and found the mini.
Build in 2002 and imported from Germany
Fell in love with the color and after a testdrive and checkup i bought the Mini.
Mini cooper 1.6
Silk green with white roof and mirrors.
18" Forged Privat Netz (black/polished) with 215-35-18 Dunlop sportmax tires.
Chrome line interior
Black Satellite panther upholstery
Original OEM clear backlights (mod on its way)
Still in doubt what to do with the wheels.
Keep this wheels an spray the centers white like the roof and lower the car.
Or buy 15" or 16" and drop it to the earths soil
Hope u like my ride and if u have any questions....let me know
Greetings

Dual tips on a standard cooper are rare.
I'd go down to at least 16's but aesthetics are a personal thing. Really nice.
Maybe ditch the dual exhaust in favor of one clean straight pipe? Don't see the advantage as even "S" owners sometimes reduce to one pipe- lighter, cleaner, etc.

The dual axhaust will stay ...i like em a lot.
You don't see this very often and it looks really neat.
I have no idea what kind of exhaust this is it was already installed when i bought the car.
I think the wheels will stay but i had a talk with my painter and he thought it would be nice to spray the centers in the body color of the car.
I hope to receive another set of these clear backlights this week, those will be sprayed with clear varnish mixed with some red paint in it.
Tried this before on my other carthat i owned before the mini but then in a smoke (black) tint.
Looked really nice so now i want to try it with red.
The panel with the side scuttle will be foiled with a custom "stickerbomb"
Its actually a really nice print that a friend of mine made on her printer, she owns a stickershop (www.stickerdump.com)
She also delivered the stickers on the rear window
Hope i have enough for both sides otherwise i have to order another sheet of foil with this print.
I will post pictures when i have the foil on the car, but it might take a while because the ink has to dry completely.
And the weather isn't that nice as well.

About 2 weeks ago i bought another set of the clear lights to give them a personal touch.
A friend is a car painter in a local bodyshop.
With his help i mixed clear varnish and red together to paint the clear lights.
After some testing and making some test pieces we found the right mixture.
Then i added 5 layers of the clear red and topped it off with 2 layers of clear varnish for protection.
After drying and some polishing i picked the light up today and mounted them.
I must say looks mighty fine to me.
What do you think of this "mod"

Wow completely forgot about this topic.....
Been a while and a lot has been changed.
I loved the 18"wheels but i found them too big for under the mini.
bought a set of keskin KT1 classic wheels in 17X8,5 ET 30
Fitted with Falken Ziex ZE 912 205-40-17 tyres.
Also bought a coilover set from D2 with adjustable Camber on the front.
The rear is now fitted with camberlinks from Eibach
Under the bonnet i placed a strutbar wich i bought from a dutch mini owner.
Tires are stretched on the rims and i love the looks of it.
Lowered the car and gave it some camber...like duh why else buy all that stuff
The looks.
Specs
Camber on the front -2° 36' (maxed out on the camberplates)
Camber on the rear -3° 54' (and room for more if desired)
To be honest i like the stance a lot as it is.
Its still a daily driven car so dont want it to extreme.
Also bought another bumper from a dutch member
it's an OEM bumper which is cleaned and i love the look.
I will pick it up this saturday
I remember the words i said to my wife...Naah i will not change a thing on this Mini i like it the way it is now......

Damn topics drop fast here.....
Today i mounted the "new" front bumper.
The color is spot on thanks to my favorite paintshop.
I placed the original turn signal units on the spot where normally you would find the fog lights.
I never use them so i removed them.
Bit of a struggle to fit the bumper because the underside of the bumper (the black trim) is shorter on a S bumper then on a original ONE bumper.
Made some brackets which are fitted on the original spots on the car and then on the bumper.
The housing of the small grille is deeper then on a ONE bumper so i had to take it out with the multitool.
But after a few hours of hard labour this is the result.
Yikes it's kinda naked like this.
And the final result
And the turn signals (took some shots to get them on the photo while they were on
I really love the look and i am happy with the result.

Thanks. BTW, I was in Amsterdam back in 1998 for a couple days. We drove up from Ramstein AFB, Germany. We had diner at a little cafe on the corner right across the canal from the Heineken Brewery. They had the best Baby Back ribs I had ever tasted. Have you ever been there? If not, you need to go.

And yet another small change to the front.
When i bought the front bumper the seller also gave me a facelift grille
My buddy painted the thing in gloss black.
I must say looks really neat.
I also got a question about the bumper corners
The us spec version has sidemarkers, is it possible to fit the US version onto a euro spec ?
Think it would make a very good addition to my Mini.
