gah

I was all set to go out and buy "my" 2009 cooper s today. Just got off the phone with the dealership... all their used minis are on hold due to the recall, even if I did go buy it today I wouldn't be able to pick it up until middle of February.

It's disappointing, but not the end of the world. Just means I'll have a little more down payment and a little less financed.

I'm surprised your dealership would not prioritize your car got a fix since its tied to a sale. Hope you find your car.

Is this from a MINI dealership? There would be no issue in buying it now and having the recall done in a couple of weeks. Kind of nice of them to not "endanger you" with a potential fire ball...be it a suuuupper slim chance.

Yes fixed, the last thing you want is a wife or girlfriend coming to you with a "blue stick" and saying, " Umm.. Honey, Surprise!.. we have to sell the Mini for a "family car" (shutter, perish the thought)... and that whole, "Save you from a Flaming Death thing" is pretty cool to.. Feb will be here before you know it!

Yes, and I *could* buy it, but I can't take delivery until they replace the water pump circuit board. Not even remotely concerned with the fire risk, it's happened to what? 12-13 people out of how many thousand mini cooper S sold from 2007-2011?
