Looks like I'm booked on the Don Juan which leaves tomorrow! Only a couple of weeks away until I have my MINI!!

 

Quick update: The ship has docked in Jersey City! There are two statuses that have been added to the W&W tracking: "Customs Release" and "Liner Release". The main status still says "Loaded Onto Vessel" though. Not sure what those two statuses mean.

Congrats on your new ride! I think you're going to love the polar beige interior. I bought an executive car off the lot and fortunately "inherited" that color, which I probably wouldn't have picked on my own. The contrast with the blue exterior is striking.

 

I bought my very first Mini just about two years ago but have been in love with them for decades. Back when we first got married, we were corner workers for the SCCA in Colorado. The Mini races there were always a hoot. I decided then and there, when I could afford it, I was going to get one. It only took thirty years. When we were in the Highlands of Scotland in 2010, we saw a classic blue Mini in the parking lot of Cawdor Castle. I so wanted to pop it into my carry-on and bring it home with me!

The spousal unit bought a Countryman about a year ago. So far, we're pretty pleased. I commute 30 miles one way to teach, so the 35 mpg helps on a teacher's salary. The run flats I have are just about due for a switch out, and I'm trying to decide which are the best tires to replace them with. I'm not a hot rodder who requires really high performance tires. That much is evidenced by me getting over 30K miles on the run flats which only rate about 25K. It looks like the ride will improve once I lose the run flats; not that the ride was bad to begin with. I got a bit of pressure from the Mini dealership to put run flats back on my Mini. I wonder if there's some kind of kickback deal going on there.

But like I said, I do love my Mini and am so happy I chose to go with it.

Another quick update: the Owner's Lounge now shoes my car in the VDC. I'm pretty surprised at this since they just opened a half hour ago, and normally the OL is a few days behind at minimum. I hope this means my car flies through and gets to my dealer this week!

Edit: Wow! The OL says Estimated Delivery Date is 3/28!!!
