My New MCS, Old Accident
Hey guys, wanted to introduce Veronica and myself. It turns out she has some dirty secrets I didn't know about I picked her up Friday, its my first time financing a car. She is a 2004 MCS with 54k. I checked the carfax and it was clean, that on top of the excitement of finally getting a loan to go through I hurried up and bought her. Kinda bums me out knowing she has went under the knife before. Looks like it was the rear 1/4. Try and be positive and don't bum me out please
11k, traded my pos Jetta and walked away with a 9k loan.

You can see the panel glued in the door frame to cover the seam. You can also see a tab they were suppose to cut off behind the rear window. What scares me is that they weren't intelligent enough to cut that tab off, or report it to car FAX

Not sure how all that stuff works. I would think you would be hard pressed to prove the dealer knew. Not sure how carfax works. I remember they offer some assurance. But if it wasn't reported by the owner who had the work done not sure you have a claim. I thought that all body damage repairs was reported somewhere. Assuming legit repair.
Anyway sorry about the prior damage. I hope everything works out.

Napoleon II had been in an accident that was not on the Carfax but was spotted by the independent inspection I ordered through Carfax (I bought it sight unseen from an auto dealer through Autotrader).
The work looks pretty good, plus you're inside of it enjoying how it drives. I wouldn't worry too much about it. I show mine in shows, am a local club member and answer with "don't know" when some smarmy person asks about the accident (apparently trained types can see something about the paint on my car that says re-spray).
Battle scars, I say, wear them proudly!
