I can finally say I am not a "wagonwife"

Hi Everyone,

I was notified today that my chili red Mini Cooper S hardtop arrived on US shores today. I should be able to pick it on Thursday.
I must confess the only car I owned prior that included "mini" in the name had "van" attached to it. I am thrilled to no longer be a "wagonwife" hauling people or moving things! I look forward to enjoying my car to just drive.
I am from a family of "motor heads" and I happen to be one as well. My husband has a grabber blue 2011 412hp mustang completely tricked out. Our neighbors think we are crazy, but after a bout with cancer we learned life is too short. And if nothing else, we will be able to pick out our cars in the parking lot!
Look forward to being part of this group!

Make sure you post some pictures of your new ride!

I lost my mother when I was 7 to cancer so I know how it is. Live is way too short to drive boring cars. Live is made to be lived and enjoyed!

Thanks John for the reply. I am so sorry about your Mom. It is terrible for a child to experience, especially at such a young age. I am two years out and hopefully cancer free. Life is too short. My husband and I are taking life less seriously and putting the maximum effort into our family.
I will post pictures when I finally have my mini arrive. Thanks again.

Welcome aboard, and 'grats on your new S. But, an even bigger and heartier WOOHOO for having such a positive attitude toward your personal challenges.

Life is indeed too short, so drive what you love, and love how - and with whom - you spend your time.

Happy Motoring!

Thanks Fridayxiii for your kind welcome. I am so excited to be here and join the other happy Mini owners. Can't believe I will own one. Owning and driving a mini was on the bucket list.I can now check that one off! Thanks also for your kindness regarding my personal challenge. It was a long haul and I was fortunate. Others are not so lucky. Cancer comes with a "gift" if accepted. You learn what is truly important in life.
Thanks again for your kindness.

Notawagonwife,
I'm sure you stop sleeping but dreaming more. Cruising your chilli red only to wake up to find yourself still in the wagon .... I went through same.
Best wishes tomorrow and please post pictures. Have fun.

Thanks F450HarleyMini for your warm welcome as well. Dreaming of driving in
the minivan, I would call that a nightmare. Hope those type of dreams end at some point and reality kicks in. Still can't believe the mini has arrived. I will post pictures. Thanks again for your kindness.

Another welcome and congrats.
Best wishes to your health and your new car. The car
will only compliment your life all the more.
My wife is big into cancer charities, she heads up a lot of
drives from her work place, in the 3 day walk in Fl. and you
name it.

Love the minivan JohnW94. That would be owning a classic car I believe and a far cry from the current "Wagonwife" mobile. Thanks the picture really made me smile.

Thanks to all of you for your very warm welcome and good wishes of health. I am thrilled as I repeated so many times to be here. It is such a joy to read your signatures. The cancer forum I have participation in also have signatures but they read like: IDC ER+PR+N +3 which gives the cancer stage and vital information to determine the gravity of the situation. The signatures here make me smile being a motor head when I read them. So much fun. What a gift of joy!!!! Thanks again everyone!

These cars become a part of the family and bring a lot of joy and happiness to our lives. Make sure you check your local region to see if there are any car clubs/MINI Cooper Rallies in your area so you can meet other "MINIacs".

If you have any questions, don't hesitate the ask. There are a lot of people here that are willing to help in whatever the matter may be. There is a lot of great information on here.
