We're narrowing down the list of options on the Hardtop S we hope to be ordering in the next week and are hung up on color. We like the looks of the Bayswater package and Kite Blue color except every time I see a new picture the color is slightly different. I put together a quick gallery trying to show what I mean..

Has anyone seen one up close and personal yet? I like the 1st and the 3rd picture but I don't want to end up with the 2nd.

 

The color on MINIUSA's website in the car building is always darker. The pictures from the autoshow is how the car will look. Unfortunately, that is the version you don't like.

 

We were actually at the NY auto show and I sat in that very car. I'm pretty bad with colors, but my wife says it was nowhere near as light as in the 2nd picture. She says it was more like the 3rd picture, though a little lighter.

If it was like the 2nd, one of us would have wondered if it was a Tiffany & Co special edition or something...

I'm sure someone will pop up with a few more pictures as the auto show is still going on through this weekend.

Seriously though, thanks for the feedback. I was hopeful that Mini wouldn't make a baby blue Tiffany's special but stranger things have happened.

 

It may be a little darker than the auto show picture (because of the lighting there). But I would expect it to be around that color.

 

Bayswater is so nice. And that is a nice blue too.

 

Sorry I couldn't be of more help. I can't go back to take a picture as I live pretty far away and was just visiting friends .

I did find another picture to confuse you further, but I think is a bit more representative of how I saw it.

 

I'm divided between the Eclipse Grey and Kite Blue.

from my personal experience, don't get a color you're not absolutely sure about. you will only see it in the way you don't want.

when i ordered my mini, i originally ordered it in high class grey. in some pictures it looked more navy/slate grey (which i liked) and in some pictures it looked purple (which i didn't like). when i finally saw the color in person, all i could see is purple.

 

Really liking the Kite Blue, too bad you have to buy the whole $3K package to get it.

 

We ended up ordering after getting to see it in person. Ordered on Saturday 4/21 and into production on 4/24. Now the waiting begins. At least in the meantime we can figure out what dealer options (warranty, maintenance, tint, clear bra, etc) we want installed before we pick it up. Thanks for the help NAM.

 

Whoa what the heck? I placed an order on 4/21 too, but my car goes into production around May 14th. :(

Thanks! We're super excited. Our dealer was able to sub out one in the queue for us. Originally it was supposed to go into production the week of May 1st (week 18 I think) but obviously it started early.

 

Exciting times! I guess week 20 for me isn't too far off.

 

Ordered On Monday night. Bayswater package(includes alot of stuff I wanted beside the great color) Cooper S /Black Headlight housing / Xeons / white turn signals / Anthracite hadliner / heated seats / Tech package -Connected with Nav / Fog lights / Sun roof
Waiting for production info. Dealer said about 5 weeks to 6 at most.
2nd time going through this. First new Mini crashed and totalled after about 6 months.
