Considering those DOHC 16-valve 4-cyl motors were mfg to go for about 125,000 miles, both you and I got a bonus (minimum) 100,000 miles out of our old rides. I didn't have a quarter million mile goal; rather, as long as my Storm got me from point A to point B without too much repair work, then I could continue to save $$ toward a new car and pay cash instead of a loan. Wish I could trade in my Storm, but with 2 crapped-out cylinders, it's most likely headed to a charity as a tax write-off or to the bone yard. We've earned our JCWs!
DOHC? Not for me. I didn't initially have a quarter million mile goal, but when I hit 200k I wanted to get to 225k. Then when 225k came I wanted to hit 250k. I always told myself that I'd keep it until it died, but while it's technically not dead yet (like yours) it has been somewhat unreliable at times this past year. I just want to get out before the cliff comes. It's been an awesome car.

Methinks LABEAST (my Storm) went over the cliff. It was also an awesome car, but alas, I got my money's worth out of it, and then some.
I'm having fun "lo-jack tracking" the ship (Topeka) my COKESTR's on. There are four of us owners hanging out in this forum with our MINIs on that ship. Kind of nice to able to commiserate with other owners while we WAIT & WAIT & WAIT & WAIT for our rides. Sigh...LOL. You'll have to post some pics of your MINI when you get it.
Just picked up Audrey. Too dark for pictures. She is GORGEOUS! Have to bring her back, buzz in the HK, key fob doesn't work and connect is bit wonky. All little things. Drives like buttah!

Great news! mostly. Can't wait to get a gander of that paint. And is the top 'silvertouched' like they describe?

The top is nowhere near being like they describe. It's brown denim. Love it, but wasn't what I imagined. The paint and the blue accents are crazy gorgeous. The interior is so classy looking. I love her so much, that the little things like a busted key fob really don't bother me.

Congratulations! Can't wait to see photos. I hope the couple little bugs get fixed up quickly.
I slept a good three hours last night. I'll be crossing the Ts and dotting the Is in just over 2 hours !!! It really blows that we have that storm touching down in New England tomorrow. No time for good pics :(

I wan't able to modify my avatar, so ended up creating a thumbnail via photo editing software, then uploading via Signature block. You'll need to select the image to upload AND add the following code to your signature block:

Well with Audrey arriving I think the whole gang from when I started my wait 11 weeks ago has got their bundles of joy. And what a great looking bunch too!! So I think I'm off to the other forums and the open road, hope to see you all out there some time and maybe we can have an "I made it through the shutdown of 2013" get together at AMVIV next year.
