Nov 15 Still sitting at Bremerhaven dock, hoping someone will take pity on it and put it on their ship.

I'm really, really hoping for Bess, leaving Nov 18 for PH. Otherwise, I'm going to start suspecting that my car is trying to avoid me...
If someone could help me, I'd appreciate it. My MA says that my car is on a ship and due at PH on 12/13. I think that Bess is due 12/12, but WW's site isn't recognizing my VIN. Are there any other ships due in from Bremerhaven to PH on that date? I'm wondering if there's a NYK Line or United due around then.

If your VIN isn't showing a result it's possible that your MINI isn't on that ship. If they MA says you are en route, then it must be a different shipping company... Check the VIN to make sure you are keying it in correctly.

Looks like my ship came in to port last night! The Talisman is docked.

It's getting closer.

Yes, I have triple checked the number. MA says it's right, so that's why I was wondering about NYK Line or United. I'm traveling at the moment and trying to check shipping sites on my phone, which is a slow and (so far) fruitless process. When I get to a computer, I want to track the right ship.

You may want to ask your MA for the vessel's name.

Stupid Pilgrams had to put a holiday right when my Mini gets to shore!

Let's get that Baby unloaded and on the truck. There will be plenty of turkey left when you get home.

When you plug in your VIN, does it make a difference if you take away the space between the two sets of numbers? Are you putting in the whole number, Mazza? Good luck!

Take away the space! Put in the whole number as one.

Anyone have any experiences with it and how well (or not) it works? Worth the 2k+ for the system?
My last three cars (Accord, Prius, Focus) have had full nav systems, and actually have gotten so used to them, I have trouble adjusting to cars without them.

With that in mind, when we test drove a car (she drove, I rode and played with the electronics as usual) I habitually touched the Nav system... and nothing happened. It's all controlled by the ***** and buttons on the floorboard between the shifter and armrest. I hope there is a touchscreen on the Roadster, but I'm not holding my breath.

I'm a bit disappointed in BMW for not putting at least a touch screen in. I had a touch screen on a much cheaper car 12 years ago. Touch screen technology has become so easy and prevalent that I can't see why they wouldn't implement it.

Those are sweet! I thought really hard about getting the Championship Lounge seats. I like the exclusivity that they only come with JCW models. They also look sooooo good and really add the right accent to the interior when other red is present.

At the last minute I went with the Recaros because:

A.) they got cancelled as an option from the Roadster and I feared the Couoe would be next.

B.) if I am already spending that much on seats, I figured I might as well go whole hog. I hope I like them. I have never seen a Mini with Recaros in person, even at a car show. I'll be pissed if I don't like them because I know the ones you have pictured here look great.

The red piped JCW seats are now available to everyone that upgrades to the $2,000 leather seats. They didn't allow it until a few days ago but it just changed.

There were many last minute changes as they launched the 2013 line. I was told they weren't available but found them under the JCW package. I guess during the launch of a model year these options are always changing and confusing. At any rate I think that it does add a nice finishing touch to the car.

Paul, There are so many differing opinions on this. I really dislike touch screens as it's easier to use the **** between the seats as your hand "naturally" falls to that position rather than reaching up and across. Also if the touch screen on those cars is anything like smartphone touch screens, I'd rather not, especially on bumpy roads or glare filled days. Not to mention a finger-printy screen.

Love those seats. Awesome looking and very comfy. My MA called today. COKESTR's at the dealership. We will pick it up on Saturday, December 1. Yep, I'm beyond excited! The week can't go by fast enough. I'll definitely post pics.

Sorry it took so long to post this—I've been out motoring :-) This car is way too much fun.

Welcome to the support group, Martin. It's a good place to hang out, get info, commiserate with other owners who are waiting for their MINI. I've been hangin' out here since early October. Just got sneak peek picks of my MINI this morning; will pick it up next Saturday, 12/1. The waiting sucks, but is bearable due to this support group.

While you're waiting, you can:

1) Lo-Jack track the ship it's on. See other thread in this forum on how to track your MINI.

2) Compare builds with other owners.

3) Discuss the pro's/con's of MINI Connect and nav systems.

4) Whine about the long wait in here so you don't irritate your friends, co-workers, and family

5) Make sure all the details for finance, order, and delivery are in good shape before p/u.

6) Set up your first official road trip for next summer.

7) And last, but not least: bug the crap out of your MA every day

btw, the OL via miniusa site is woefully outdated and sloooooooooooow. You won't get much real time info from it. Once your MINI has a production #, then you can call 1-866-ASK-MINI and get some better info. Make sure to bypass the robot by asking for Customer Relations to get a live voice. ASK MINI will have info for you until your MINI is delivered to the port (usually Southampton). Once it's on a ship, then ASK MINI steps out of the info loop. Your MA might have info as well. However, when you get your VIN #, then you can start lo-jack tracking the ship from port of departure, through English Channel. Once ship is in the Atlantic, it goes offline (think high seas pirates), and you cannot track it again until it gets closer to the US eastern seaboard and/or Carribean Sea. You're in Texas, so I'm not sure if your MINI will go to US eastern port or come through Panama Canal and head for Port Hueneme, CA. You need to find out from your MA which port of destination. If Port Hueneme, CA, then plan on a 21-day voyage. If US eastern port, then it's like 8 days, I think? Another owner here have a better idea. Hope this info helps.

Enjoy and have fun here!
