We finally picked up the Rhoadster last night! Everything went well, they were just finishing up the tinting (outside provider) as we pulled up. We got the 0.9%, waived the extended warrantee (>$2000) and extended service plan ($1850), signed all the papers and got most of the setup. Something went wrong when they were activating the Nav and it's still looking for the unlock code, which the service dept has, and they were closed. They'll send it to us today hopefully. Oh, the back bumper was scratched up, not bad, just looked like somebody leaned on it with something abrasive while accessing the huge trunk. It should buff out easily hopefully.
The wife really likes it, but is still adjusting from the Armada, where she can see 10 cars ahead and behind, to only being able to see 1 car each way. She's back in the groove of driving manual, even in her high heels.
The factory forgot to put on her black wheels, so the dealership had to install them. Other than that, everything went smoothly, and after a free Dippin' Dots ice cream, we headed home and blasted out her Harmon Carmen speakers (which sound great once we got the iPhone plug inserted properly).
It was dark last night when we picked it up, and the dealership didn't have the parking lot very lit, so the pics aren't great. I'll get better ones when I actually get to see it in the daytime.

I'm depressed...my JCW Countryman just went from Scheduled for production the past month to "on order" with an n/a for build week according to the 800 line....Does anyone know of a delay or hold up???
I put in a call to my dealer to see wtf is up. Not happy. I forgot how gut wrenching ordering a MINI can be lol.

Paul Rhoads I sure loved the happy, happy pictures and up to date narrative of your delivery.
I just finished checking all 3 ASK MINI sources one right after the other and received 3 different answers:
Owners Lounge: Scheduled For Production
Automated Voice: Awaiting Transport
Human Voice: In final day of production
Hmmmm....

tpthrshr, Oh my goodness...I've been kicking around what I want the "first" thing I do in my new Mini, when it arrives. One of the top three contenders is a trip to In 'n Out Burger (actually a sentimental reason for that choice.) But I am leaning instead toward a drive across the Golden Gate Bridge. Your hamburger drive in photo, on the first day with the Cokestr, really hit a chord with me! Congratulations!
