You should have a hard copy of your VIR (Vehicle Inquiry Report) provided to you by your MA or one emailed to you by your MA you will find your Port under "Port Loc" by looking under Vehicle Inquiry Report you should see 3 short columns of information:

1st Column:
VIN: Most likely blank at this point
Prod. No. Very important and necessary to track your MINI
Order Status
Act. Prod. Dae
Model

2nd Column:
Priority: Must read "1 - Customer Sold" as this gives production priority
Customer: You?
Salesperson: Your MA
Dir Srch Code:
DIr Notes

3rd Column:
Assigned to: Your Dealer?
Alt Ship to:
Port Loc: This will be the abbreviation for the Port your MINI will be arriving. For example, "BALPOA" would be Baltimore Port of Entry
Trans Flag
Mod Block

Awesome! Thanks for that info!

It says NYCPOA so it will be NY. That means in theory it could be on tomorrow's boat but I doubt that because it just got finished yesterday, it would have to be sent to Southampton today and ship tomorrow. Damn. I'll bet Im on for a week of waiting for the next one.

My cms is on Auriga Leader, which is going through the canal right now and due into port by 12/19. My priority was never listed as 1. It was actually 3! Which is why I think my production got bumped and delayed by a week. My MA of course acts like I'm crazy and paranoid and he claims nothing happened. Also, I want to know what the norm is as far as finalizing purchase when you order a car. In my case I put down $1000 and discussed the price but I have not signed a purchase agreement or finance docs etc.... When I asked them about it they again reacted as though I was crazy and said "we can't sell a car we don't have here yet". If anyone knows anything please share.

Also I confess that I'm going nuts waiting!

Have you checked WW to see which boats are arriving and departing for NYCPOA for the rest of his month? But, OTH, if it finished tomorrow it will take a few days to get from the maternity ward to the dock and then on to a ship. Waiting requires patience and, since patience is a virtue and I'm seemingly virtousless I'm lost.

Kurtster:

This is what I found for WW from Southampton to NY for the remainder of this month:

SOUTHAMPTON DPT: 09/12/2012
NEW YORK, NY ARR: 20/12/2012
on the DON JUAN (CA249-DOJ) 11 Days Transit

SOUTHAMPTON DPT: 16/12/2012
NEW YORK, NY ARR: 26/12/2012
on the QUEEN SAPPHIRE (CA250-QUS) 10 Days Transit

The best info on tracking your MINI is right here

Note: The Don Juan is at Southampton now

Thought I'd join the wait! Ordered my 2013 Bayswater blue S hard top (in a a manual of course!) on 11/14. It is currently en route! I think it's on the Chesapeake Highway since it left a few days ago and hasn't popped up under WW. I'm located in Houston. Can't freaking wait! Graduating from a wonderful 2001 Integra, time to put those old wheels to rest.

Yeah, I'd hoped it would be on the Don Juan leaving tomorrow but the VIN doesn't result in any results yet so if it were leaving tomorrow I'd imagine it would show up now as being scheduled for tomorrow's ship. *sigh*

So I'd bet cold hard cash it'll be on the Queen Sapphire, arrive in NY the 26th. That leaves exactly six whole days for it to get to the Boston area and for me to take delivery of it before I lose my factory incentive. That takes the buying from "Not Normal" to "Not Fun". Considering that the dealer needs time to paint and install a fixed rear wing I'll probably end up taking delivery without everything installed just to meet the deadline.

If it hadn't sat for nearly a month before going into production I wouldn't have a deadline to worry about.

Awesome! I'm on the Chesapeake Highway as well.
Your MA can probably confirm for you.

Chesapeake Highway was originally scheduled to land at Baltimore tomorrow but I think there were some delays... Regardless, we're within 1-2 weeks.

Bayswater = SWEET. I nearly ordered one. Very nice design elements on that. I particularly like the stripes both inside and outside the car, and the leather on the dash. Congrats! You'll love it.

Wait...you ordered on 11/14 and it's en route already? WTF? I ordered 11/3 and mine's not even on a ship yet. Was yours in production or already on a boat without an order for it when you ordered?

I'm sorry to hear that... your MA sucks!

I think $1000 deposit is a standard for everybody. My MA sent me the reservation agreement that has $750 dealership discount, $750 Not Normal Sale Event, $500 USAA discount all listed on there.

You can't buy it before the car comes because the car didn't even go through customs... but the agreement about the price should've been made at the time of your order.

Unless everyone else does it differently.... but that's how mine was.

It went into production the last week of November if I recall correctly. My MA confirmed it was en route on the 3rd.

Kurtster, bad news bud - my MA told me not to get my hopes up for shipping out on the boat on the 9th. Since ours a virtually identical (orders, and dates) might apply to you too :(

Also is the fixed spoiler done at the dealership? The reason I didn't get one was my MA advised it was another two weekish added on at the VDC for it. So that and getting to play with the moving one talked me out of it.

Yeah, my understanding is that the fixed spoiler goes on at the dealer and they will need to sent it out to get it painted and all because it doesn't come pre-painted. That will take time too and I can't imagine they'll just have one done when the car get to them. I can't imagine MINI corporate backing out of their own incentive offer when the timetable for delivery was entirely in their hands. It just sucks that I have to deal with it at all a on top of likely not having it until next year.

I bought my Countryman on 11-19-12. It's waiting for a vessel at this point.

What's this "Not Normal" promotion I see referenced, where people are getting maybe $750 discounts? I did not know about it - if it was effective on November 19 when I made my purchase. Did I miss out? (The eternal question for me.)

Kurtster, I'm pretty sure you can do all the paperwork before you physically have the car. As long as customs clears it off the boat, I think you can buy it since you got the VIN and everything. I was concerned about that as well because Not Normal cut off is Jan 2. When I talked to my MA about it, he made it seem like customs was the only thing from doing the paperwork.

Not Normal is a end of the year sales event that Mini ran in October. You have to sign up for it and you get a code for $750 off. If you complain to your MA, you might at least get some free accessories...

Congrats on the order! There are a lot of good ideas in this thread to keep you busy while you wait but still it won't be easy! You could start reading the owners manual cover to cover...LOL

Kurster: Remember, yours is a JCW and a Coupe at that. Mini has a habit of waiting to build our types of cars. Coupes are low production, as well as the JCW too. Mine was ordered on 8-29 and it wasn't until 10-1 that it was in production, but it did go fast after that. It was finished on a Friday, and on the ship on Monday. Also, mine went into the NYC POE and wasted one day before tranversing the New Jersey coastline looking for Miss America type girls. Another thing, if you are on one of the newer ships, they go faster across the Atlantic, mine was 5 days from Southampton to NYC. Just some history on my Lil Guy.

BrownIsland: Your JCW on order looks alot like my Lil Guy. Black, red roof, black wheels, ect. Great combination. When you pick it up, look for paint marring on both bumpers and the rear hatch handle. My handle was a mess and I missed that. I, also had some on the rear bumper, but that rubbed out.

Yeah...i debated so much and changed my color several times after the order was in. I didn't want another black car because I have a Black Infiniti G35 right now. But I really wanted contrasting red roof because its JCW exclusive and.... its RED ROOF. and the best color for that is Black.... no doubt.

Thanks for the tip, I'll definitely do a thorough check.
