Just wondering for the people who's cars are in transit what seems to be the eta for your cars start to finish. I was told the normal 6-8 weeks but it seems 45 days is the regular.

and enter your VIN in the far Right box and search it should show what Ship your on. But you probably allready know this!

Forgot that Austria-based Magna Steyr assembles the Countryman in Graz, so your Mini is comming from Austria, not the UK so different Ship.
Cospringjc, Thanks! I entered my VIN and it says "No records found." I hope this just means it's still catching up with reality.

cospringjc: Oh - about the Countryman being assembled in Graz. That's news to me...thanks for the info. I'm confused though. Looking forward to the clarity of sitting in the driver's seat.

I'm hearing Countryman cars are being built in Graz, not Oxford. If so...I take it the shipping is totally different for me?

The automated phone line says my car is "in transit" and I should ask the dealer for shipping information.

Is that the message you get for your Mini Coopers? Or is "ask the dealer" a Countryman thing.

giantboy, Thanks for that. I'm reading that blog. Does not appear that there is a way to check the vessel or track the shipment using the VIN, as there is with other cars. I could be wrong, I'm on a steep learning curve here.

New owner here- still waiting. It's agony. That fellow got it right when he said "you may just want to wait for the dealer to call". Lots of issues trying to track but thats cause it sat at "scheduled for production" for 4 full weeks. Now its moved to waiting for ship as of Dec 7. A ship leaves Dec 12. I hope I am on it. waiting... Totally stoked to get it. The test drive experience blew my socks off. And won my wife over (possibly the largest challenge). She was not keen on the Clubman till we drove. Suddenly the "silly" little door (her words not mine) went right out the window. Needed the extra space of the Clubman. Trading an Outback Wagon.
In the time of waiting has anyone else reconfigured a car online and second guessed their order? I found I really like the Dark Gray with all kinds of silver accents and stripes. Oops!

Since your Countryman is probably shipping from Bremerhaven, DE, you may also want to check NYKline (they provide BMW with transport services to the west coast) to see if you show up on one of their records...

http://www2.nykline.com/index.html?l1l=9310741479583926

It may be a long shot, but with enough googling, you will find it.

the only real difference is the countryman start it's ship journey from bremerhaven. all the tracking and such is the same.

put your vin in the cargo id box and that will tell you what ship - once they have assigned it.
https://att.2wglobal.com/gstattweb/o...uickSearchPage

put PORT HUENEME in the arrival box click "Start Search" at the bottom left and this will tell you ships coming out of bremerhaven (you will see TIGER is the next one out)
https://att.2wglobal.com/gstattweb/o...uickSearchPage

once you have your ship you may track it here - click "Ship Tracker" and put in the call sign you get from the other site.

JD, you're gonna love it. Welcome to the club. I took ownership of my first MINI in Dec. 2003 and sold it this year to order this Coupe. In 2009 my wife bought a Hot Chocolate Clubman and it's a great car. I love it. Fits a lot more stuff than you might think.

As for second guessing, yup. I think i've learned from the Coupe Owner's Lounge on Facebook that I messed up and should've ordered the backup proximity detection system because I've always thought it was gimmicky and I forgot how limited the vision out the back of the Coupe really is. Oh, well.

That ship is the Tamesis. I've been waiting along with you for a ship to appear in the port. Let's see if we're on it when we check tomorrow. If I'm listed on the manifest, you'll definitely hear my whoop, whoop.

From what I've been able to figure out, each dealer has x number of cars preordered with low priority codes, such as "4 stock." If your dealer has one that is almost ready for production and reconfigures that car for you then you'll have a much shorter wait. The only time, to my knowledge, this doesn't work is if a dealer has one already in production as I'm told no changes can occur after this.

Blah, AIS hasn't updated the position of the Chesapeake Highway in 6+ hours. Don't they know this is serious business!?!

Congratulations! I hope you are on it! Strange that there is no rhyme or reason to how production flows on the JCWs. You and I ordered about the same time and mine won't be done till next week. Based on the shipping schedule I am looking at just about 12 weeks from order to delivery.

I'm glad yours is on the way and you will be enjoying it soon!
