Making your Mini wait.
Yikes. MA texted wants to know if I can come by Wednesday, asking if I know where my Countryman is, and smiley face, smiley face. I'm leaving town tomorrow for several days! That may change, my schedule is not carved in stone. But the thought of my "Argo" sitting at the dealer, wondering if I even care enough to come pick it up. The thought!
I can relate as I travel and as I schedule my future travel dates I am concerned that I may miss the date it arrives for pickup. Plus I am trying to get as much of my travelling out of the was as fast as I can for the year so I have more time to drive my Mini when it does arrive.
Hate to think I am driving a rental, who knows what in another state while my Mini would be sitting at home or worse at the dealer just waiting for me...it will kill me.

There were things I wanted to add that I didn't. I wanted to keep the OTD price under $36,500. I was close, I got them down to $36549. They are still committing to the .9% financing So when it is all said & done, the final price with financing and tax/title/delivery will be $40,147.00
Now, just to get it! I'm dying here.....My rental car is a Fiat and they SUCK!!!!

Thanks to everyone for the advice and help. I have decided that I will be ordering my very own, but will wait a little bit longer before taking the plunge. I had a great experience at Mini of Baltimore yesterday which only added more fuel to my desire to own one. At 33, I'm finally going to get the exact car I want, not the one I have to get.
Congrats on the order!!!!

Found the delay! Ouch!
For all of us still waiting for our cars to be produced it looks like the Factory in Cowley, Oxford closed December 21st and will not reopen until January 21st.
http://www.irvineminicoopernews.com/...in-shifts.html
It appears there was good news for the union and more jobs and better hours and even new machines (mainly for the new 2014 models) but that means that we probably can't expect any motion on production until at least a few days after Jan 21st at the earliest.
Sorry for the bad news at least now I can stop OC'ing until then.

Mine told me on Saturday that the car was released to a trucking carrier, but it hasn't shown up at the dealership yet. It's only like 6 hours from the VDC to Tempe... Perhaps having all this information is indeed a double-edged sword. The 866 number says "in transit" as of a couple of hours ago... I'm trying to be patient.

At least your MA actually knows where your car is

Strike my last message. Just got a call from MA - heading down there in an hour to supposedly pick up my car. I say "supposedly" because it seems a bit unreal to me, I will believe it when I see it.

AS for everyone else having to wait for the shop to reopen hang in there!!
Im glad I ordered the 8th now because my car rolled out the factory a couple days before they shut down, Im seeing an ETA for the Turandot on the 11th now.

Picked up "Argo" this evening. It was really too dark to get a decent shot...Over the next few days I'll be in a good part of California where I hope to get some nice shots put up here. I'll say this after having now driven a whopping 6 miles in it....I do not understand all the features, or even a small portion of the features. I hope the learning curve is not too difficult because I'm a bit overwhelmed at all the controls and options. Love the car!:thumbsu p:
