You can order the switch from your dealer... Think it was 9 dollars... Easy to install, took me 5 minutes, and I had it programmed to turn on... All the parts are there for rear fog including the bulbs. I now have rear fogs ( and a bunch of other reprogrammed things like video when driving, auto up and down windows via key fob and one touch up/ down windows . And the total cost was LESS than 100 bucks... A lot less ;-)

Dern it I'm uploading photos of Argo, but it's not happening. I keep getting a message that I'm missing a "security token." Anyone else have this problem? I can't even load the photos onto my gallery...I don't get an error message but the upload process just stops at some point with nothing uploaded. Trust me...my car is beautiful!!

Yay! Now I get to share Argo with you all. (My earlier posts were too large in size.)

fvfvsix and cospringjc, yours are either with you, or very shortly will be since we all came in on the Zenith Leader.

First they were too big, apparently. Now I got them posted but they look awfully small to me. I'm not having the same success as so many others here have. But at least it's up, and at least I'm walking out the door in five minutes for yet another pointless ride!

Just placed my order...!

I just placed my order on the 6th with South Bay Mini (a FANTASTIC dealership) for a 2013 MCS Hardtop loaded out as follows:

B23 Spice Orange
ATP9 JCW Black Checkered Cloth
ZCW Cold Weather Pkg (Power Folding Mirrors, Heated Mirrors, Heated Seats)
ZNV MINI Connected with Nav Pkg
ZTC Technology Pkg (Comfort Access, H/K Sound, Sat Radio...and center armrest with iPhone cradle for free, my MA tells me)
7KM JCW Interior Package
2GS 17" Conical Spoke, Black wheels
329 Black Bonnet Stripes
363 Black roof/mirror caps
430 Auto-dimming interior/exterior mirrors
431 Auto-dimming rearview mirror
473 center armrest
4C1 Carbon Black color line
502 headlight washers
521 Rain sensor/auto headlights
522 Xenons
524 Adaptive lights
534 Automatic A/C
5AA Rear fog (OCD about all the switches too!)
785 White turn signal lights

Once it gets in I'm going to do the JCW tuning kit to get the extra 16hp and that awesome exhaust, the checkered flag JCW floor mats, get the windows tinted, and replace the chrome bits on the outside with black. I'm also going to get the roof rack to carry my fiancee's and my bikes around.

I'm really excited - this is my first new car all for myself (we bought a Justa off the lot for my fiancee in May, and I fell in love with it.) I got my production number the day I ordered it, but it didn't show up in the owner's lounge (kept saying that it didn't exist yet) until yesterday afternoon. So - hopefully, I'm on my way!

Looking forward to huddling up with you guys as we agonize over the days before the fun arrives...

Chris

I can so relate to having a new car not just the type of car "MINI" but the exact car the way you want it 100%. The only negative is that Mini's have so many options I find myself wondering if I should have added more cool bells and whistles but I remind myself that I had to draw the line somewhere. Like I could care less (being in FL) about heated seats and really didn't want to pay for something I didn't want but the heated mirrors, auto dimming, the auto A/C (set and forget temps) are all kind of cool although the electric retracting side mirrors are very cool and I do live where a lot of people park on the side of the road (small or non-existent driveways).

So many toys...so little time.

I've always owned small cars unless they were hand me downs from my wife.
Justy, Geo, Bug (1970), Datsun 510, etc...all are small or very small but they all have 1 thing in common that I didn't like...no power which is hard in those type of cars as I do not like the common sports car designs but prefer the boxie look of the old Minis although the new ones will more than due just fine. That is why I've wanted a MCS since 2002 when they came out but either didn't have the money or had to spend it on other things. So now that I do and recently sold a business I decided to have an early (and mild) mid-life crisis and step up from the MCS to the JCW as I figured I waited 10 years to buy a Mini might as well drop the extra $6k (about $100/month more).

The only major problem ordering the car is no one can really prepare you for the 6 to 12 week (or more) waiting after getting so excited about buying such a cool and fun car. I guess know after 6 to 12 weeks or more you will only appreciate the car even more.

As someone else on this site said (may not get it word for word but you will get the message) "I don't need to spend the money on a Mini as I can drive a Toyota Yaris but I choose to drive a Mini". I think his point was that there are tons of fun and inexpensive cars that people can buy but the Mini is really a step beyond and although you do pay a premium for that fun it is WORTH IT in the long run. Note: He had purchased 3 Mini's from what I remember in his signature with one being very recent.

Funny I don't like white cars, but the Countryman is the exception. I think it looks great in white (with black roof and accents). Congrats! Mine is at port!

My next Mini

Finally got into the Mini Owners Lounge, (had to make a new user name, change Email etc.) for the new order. My order from 1/2/13 is now listed!

It doesn't take much to make me happy. LOL

I tried registering for the OL, but my production number isn't liked to my car. It has another 2013 model listed.

If you already have a mini and an owner's lounge account - click on "Update Profile" at the top, then "Add" to the right of "Member Vehicles". You can add your new production number there, and then click on "Home" at the top - and select the new Mini from the dropdown. Then you can do all the right "Where's my Baby" links.

Hi guys. Just curious if you are having trouble logging in to mini's owners lounge? I have tried the last two days and it says I have entered incorrect information more than five times and to wait till later. Got an email from mini saying they know they are having problems. Yada yada yada. Anyone else have answers/same problem? I want to know where my baby is!!!!!

Not to worry.

Not to worry as I ordered a JCW Hardtop (all black inside and out) and mine showed an MCS with chilli red for the first week and half. Supposedly some people see crap in there during the entire build but mine finally updated with all the correct information. I even added Rear Fog lights and 2 days later that showed up in there too.

Hang in there as supposedly Mini's Factory is closed until Jan 20 and will reopen on Jan 21st. I think the rest of Mini is already back to work as I've noticed updates here and there but nothing in regards to production as that is the factory that is closed.

Supposedly they are retro-fitting some equipment and adding new stuff for the 2014 models later in the year. I am SOOOOO Happy I ordered now as rumor is most Minis will be going to the new BMW 1 Series 3 Cylinder. Although there are rumors that the JCWs will keep 4 Cylinders I'd rather be safe than sorry. Plus I am one of those people with really CRAP Luck so Friday the 13th is usually good luck and I expect a 2013 to be AWESOME LUCK! Minus the ordering and the warehouse being closed...that isn't all that good but it will make me appreciate my Mini all that much more when I finally get it.

No Go on the 0.9% Financing Rate

Well that's a bummer. My dealer says no 0.9% for me. I ordered my car in early November and was approved for financing 12/31 good for 60 days, so I thought I would get the deal. But since the car was not here and the deal was not completed by 12/31 they tell me the 0.9% is over. Apparently they used to "grandfather" in folks that ordered cars before the financing deals expired but my MA says not this year.

Not a deal breaker of course but would have been nice to save a couple bucks. 1.9% is good but 0.9% is more better!

Hadn't heard this...might need to speed up my timeline to make sure I get a 2013...although it seems unlikely that they'd put the 3 cylinder in the Countryman, so maybe I'm safe.
