"Those waiting for a 2013" Support Group

cospringjc, I will not feel I've "graduated" from this group until all Zenith Leader cars are delivered, and after all this time I cannot wait to see your photos!
So you went for the tinted windows. I'm still considering that, it's not too late I'm told.
Also I'm mulling over the following, does anyone have thoughts about these?
1. Clearguard sealant.
2. Clearguard 3M Film

Oh and ps --- I too am anxiously awaiting 1/21. I can't wait to see my car go from scheduled production to IN production!!!!

Bra Lines
I had the Clearguard on my first MINI which was Astro Black in color. While it did an excellent job of protecting the paint, I could always see it. I observed a gold MINI the other day in the rain and could really see the difference between the area that had the clear bra and the rest of the car. It was the way the rain sat on each of the surfaces.
I decided on the car I'm about to get, not to get a clear bra. I'm just going to enjoy the driving experience, not worry about trade-in values or unsightly clear bra lines.

I really want to avoid ALL damage to my new Mini as it will be the most expensive (by about 50%), coolest and most modern car I have ever owned. With all that said I still don't want to see a bra line either, just a high gloss finish as much as possible.

Thank you all for your insights on the film or the sealant. I too have been contemplating this additional addon. I had a 2006 MINI, I live in Southern California and the freeways are a part of my life. My 2006 Mini took a beating!!!! from the back she looked prisitne but from the front she looked like a shotgun had been blasted at the hood. I've noticed the cars with the film on them and can see the line of where the film starts on stops and it bugs me. Maybe because I am looking for it. I do get my car washed every week and detailed once a month. The dealership charges an arm and a leg to do the film anyone know of a good Orange County, California shop that does a GREAT job for a good price.
Thanks again!!!

I've been doing pretty well with the wait, but my ship ("Courage") is supposed to be at the port tomorrow or Thursday, and now I am obsessively tracking it.
The last update on the ship tracker was the 11th and it was about in the middle of the ocean.
Assuming she gets in by Thursday, it should be at the dealer next week for probable pickup on the 26th! At least that's what I'm planning for at the moment.
I am soooooooo excited to see her in person! I've been watching this thread since before I even put my order in, and honestly thought everyone was a little wacky about waiting. However, I'm getting a little nutty now, haha.
Is anyone else on Courage?? I hope Wonder Woman is making friends!!

Kind of funny when you stop and think that probably more than half of us on here are guys and basically we are worried about bra lines and support.

Making us wait
Making us wait...I see how it is. Please add a photo of the rear showing the JCW logo and the front grill as I've never seen a JCW version of the CM in real life and only a few photos. Thank you.

One option to avoid the line (but an expensive one) is to do the whole hood. But that increases the price a lot. I lived in O.C. for many years but it's been so long I don't know any good shops there. If you can make the trip to Sherman Oaks, Sticker City does a great job. They have a January special (per their website) for $499 for partial hood, bumper, fenders and mirrors. I don't know the price for a full hood but my guess would be $1000 or so. I don't like the line on the hood either but I am OCD about the paint chips so I live with it. I found that if I keep a good shine on the clear bra along with the rest of the car it is not easy to see the line, but that depends on the color of your car. The darker the color, the easier to see the line where it ends.

I should pay attention and see how long it takes for the vehicles to dock state side and then how long from docking does it take to get to California.
Oh, the anticipation is enough to drive me bizerk!

Yes there is hope! My car was at the port with yours on the 11th, I however have heard nothing yet on my car. Owners lounge states still on boat but I know its not. Im hoping it gets out the VDC by tomorrow and up to the dealer so I can get it either Friday or Saturday.
I want to see pic's by the way

I know exactly how frustrated you are. Mine was supposed to start production on 12/17 and still hasn't been started. I've been told it will start on the 21st with completion on the 29th but who knows. How did you get your info?

Thank you
Love all the shots, Thank you. The aerial shot was a very nice touch. I see JCW as a performance car and the CM as a family sedan / SUV but together that would be sweet. Enjoy that ride and tell all your passengers to fasten seat belts and hold on.

I stopped by the dealer and my MA looked up up on his computer. I put him on notice that while a delay didn't bother me in terms of waiting longer for the car, there would be a major issue if they tried to pull the 0.9 percent finance rate that I got the day before I put my deposit down. Figured I'd preempt any attempt on their part to try to slide it by me.

Thanks much for the info Jake. Looks like your baby an mine will probably be on the same ship out. I bet yours starts production the same day as min 01/21/2013 and I've ben told min should be completed by 01/29/2013 and then boarding a ship for the states.
I should pay attention and see how long it takes for the vehicles to dock state side and then how long from docking does it take to get to California.

If mine arrives at Port Hueneme on Friday 1/25 I'm guessing it will be done at the VDC around Wednesday the following week since they don't work weekends. The ride to the dealer from the VDC is probably 30 minutes. Then a couple days for the dealer to do their thing and hopefully we are looking at Sat 2/2 for delivery - can't be Sunday because the dealer is closed Sundays LOL. This obsessing is crazy! LOL
At least how long it sits at the VDC might give you an idea of how long yours will be there as well?
