Try and track it on the W&W site... It might already have a berth reserved...

I thought it would be at the VDC for a while but that was not the case at all! The ship arrived at the port on Friday morning at like 5 a.m. - the VDC is just down the road so they must have finished it the same day. My dealer (Mini of Camarillo) is about 15 minutes from the VDC and the car arrived on the transport at the dealer on Saturday! One day later, that was fast!

So now the dealer does their quality checks and details it and I am ready to motor. He will call me Monday to set up a delivery date...getting so close I can't believe it!

I hope everyone else going through the Oxnard VDC has similar luck!
Very cool that it went thru the VDC that fast. You will have it soon!!!!

Hey Superchicken,

I think we both started production on the same day... mine is scheduled to be finished on 1/31 also, so we'll probably be on the same boat! :-)

Hey blknblu
I thought waiting to be released to carrier was the distribution center releasing to the truck transport to your dealer. Awaiting Transport is waiting on a ship.

I am so confused, ask mini recording says car is done and awaiting transport, but the live rep says it will be finished today and possibly sent out next couple of days to port. When I questioned him about recording he kinda backtracked and told me to check back tomorrow. /sigh

I wish it was being sent to dealer, but boat ride takes 21 days, so no way it's here :(

Oops I did it again!

My wife took delivery of her 2013 MCC 10 days (and about 600 miles) ago. Kept telling her I had buyers remorse and wished we had gotten the coupe.

We had been talking about a Class B RV converted Dodge Sprinter for a couple of years off and on. Was going to use it for my daily commute. Then she tells me no more camping for her. Sounds like more fun car time!

To make a long story longer. Just got back from MINI Austin and ordered a 2013 JCW Coupe! BRG, silver roof with contrasting silver/BRG sport stripes. Signed the order just before 6 PM local, and got the production number at 7 PM! If only the rest of the wait went that quick.

Now the waiting part 2 continues.

I bought one off their lot. I had a gallon of championship white paint I was going to use to paint another car and saw the black and white peppered color combo. It was the closest one to championship white and had the same scheme as a project car I had so I went with it.

Along the same lines - without knowing where you are in the country it's hard to estimate when the car will arrive because shipping times vary. With things starting on the 14th - if you're in the Northeast your car would need to be loaded on a ship within the next 5 days for you to have a chance of getting it in time as it's approximately 10 days from Southampton to New York. If you're further South or West it will take even longer.

I usually put 4 thousand on for this trip. That would put my MCS over the 50K mark. I live near Philly and the dealer is in Princeton NJ. Looks like I will miss Daytona Races. I love the Motorcycle racing and usually camp on the infield. As I'm starting to get on in years, I won't be Tent Camping very much longer.

****supposedly***** said tentatively, my baby is supposed to be completed today. All week ASKMINI said she was in the body shop, she's never progressed further than that. If I call right now, she still says in the body shop.

Did your car progress through ASKMINI to different parts of the plant; body shop, paint, quality assurance, etc???

Probably since she spent 43 days in production, she'll need at least 15 in the body shop....argghhhhhhh!

Just think, with all that attention given to your car, it should be perfect!

Yeah I don't think anyone can see status changes although supposedly the MA has direct access to the AS400 where all the data is stored on the progress of your car, just wish MA's would actually email out updates from time to time but most of ours don't say anything unless asked and even then some seem to be technically / communications challenged.

The ASK-Mini actual people seem to have the 2nd best info but seem to like to share from time to time based on which one answers the phone.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Tombarra shipmates?

My MINI is supposed to be completed on Jan 31, so my best guess is that it will be aboard the TOMBARRA ship that leaves Southampton on Feb 11 and arrives in Port Hueneme on Mar 3. I'm located in Northern California, so I'm hoping my car will be delivered to me by Friday of that week (Mar 8).

Who else is expecting to catch that same ship? Where are you located?

I know at least one person with a similar build date who will be taking delivery in Southern California, but hopefully there are a few more of you out there. I want to know so I can use your updates to this thread to give me more information about my own delivery. For example, if someone in LA gets delivery on a Thursday, then I ought to get delivery 1 day later...

Maybe this will help me reduce my frantic polling of the OL...

Came across this NatGeo Mega Factories video on Pinterest of all places while running a search on MINI Coupes. Apologies if any of you have already seen it (it's a couple of years old-when the Coupe was released), but for first time MINI buyers like me, it's a great look into the factory and build process of our cars and how much attention to detail is put into each one. I'm amazed!
*I also did not know that Coupe was pronounced 'Coupe-A'. Am I the only one?
Enjoy!

Awesome video! Thanks for sharing. And I believe that Coupe-A is just the British English pronunciation of Coupe. At least that's what Top Gear has led me to believe!

Hi Brett~
Unfortunately for me, I think my Mini will be on the Tombarra. My build is supposed to be completed today but it doesn't appear that she has been completely built. arghhhhhh

With all my complaining said, it'll be nice to have other Mini crazed people to chat with while we all overly obsess about the final arrival date.

Oh how excited we will all be when that ship docks!!!
