OMG, the OL finally changed the status of my Mini to awaiting transport. Woohoo, I finally, after 11 weeks, feel like she is actually going to be delivered in 2013. hahahahahahahahahahaha

 

Although really we need a smilie that's blowing a noisemaker and throwing confetti!

 

Holy Crap, My Vin says she is already booked on a ship!! She will be on the Gentle Leader. This ship leaves on 02/03/2013 and is expected to dock in Port Hueneme on 02/27/2013. OMG, OMG, OMG I think I am tearing up!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't believe after checking the WW site nearly 1 billion times, she has finally shown up!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!

Glad I could make you laugh!!! I seriously screamed out loud - "HOLY ****" when my VIN finally pulled up on the WW site. People stood up out of their cubes to stare back into my office. oops, did I say that out loud?!?!

Now to a new obsession. I will begin loging into the other sites 50-100 times a day checking her progress.

Whoa congrats! Holy cow, I didn't even realize there was a ship going for Hueneme on the 3rd - maybe I'll make that boat too, the car is supposed to be done today!

Thanks Chris!!! I can't seem to focus on anything else at the moment!!! I'm still in shock. I had no clue there was any other ship leaving until the 6th. I'd checked the shipping site about 1.2 a million times and never saw the "Gentle Leader" listed.

Here is to hoping all those on teh west coast waiting get on this ship!! My girl wants to Partay!!!

Funny thing is, I've emailed my MA for a status update. I bet they come back with they don't have nay other info. Can't wait to blow them out of the water with what I have come up with!!!!

 

Thank you for blowing up the thread, made me smile for you and made me wonder so I called the ASK-MINI and they told me they didn't show my car in the system anymore, which she says usually means the car is already out of their system and completed. She said it is most likely in route to the docks or at the port but I'd have to contact my MA for more info. So it is time to start pounding out the VIN every hour until it shows up. What is funny is that the shipping site quit responding for about 4 minutes, must have been you verifying everything...just whatever you do don't take the site down while monitoring.

 

What is funny is that I currently have an old (hand me down) pickup truck as I gave my old Subaru Forester to my Sister after she got laid off only to get laid off myself about a year later. Got a great job now... but I have been keeping the old truck super clean just in practice for my future Mini. I told me wife I had a nightmare last week that she put a bunch of potted plants in the back of my new Mini and when I took a sharp corner it all fell over all over my car. So now she thinks I am mad at her for messing up a car I don't even have yet and told me she wants to see just how clean I can keep my Mini after 2 weeks as I have a habit of leaving tons (3 to 5 at a time) of empty water bottles in the passenger floorboard. (I live on water, tons of water all the time but only bottled).

 

GOOD NEWS: When I called this morning, I was told that our Mini is at the port already!

I am so happy to hear there's a chance of getting on an earlier ship than the Tombarra. Our car is not showing up as assigned to any ship on the WW site yet.

BAD NEWS: Our dealer says it will still be 5 weeks until we get the car :(
Living in Seattle just sucks sometimes.

Guess I should count my lucky stars though. We ordered Dec 21st, right before the Christmas holiday at the factory, and we are looking at 11 weeks total if we stay on this schedule.

I can't guarantee you I won't take the site down. I'll do my best not to as that would be so unfair to the rest or you!!

And BTW, when I called askmini, she was able to tell me my car was on the train to transport and then today she was able to tell me that my car had officially been signed off on and delivered to the docks. It was at that point she was unable to help me further.

So hopefully, her lack of information means your car is on the train. It appears that it only takes 1 day once it leaves the factory. That is if she has really left. Once my car officially left the factory, it was at the dock the next day.

Hoping we are on the same ship. I looked again and didn't realize the Tombarra didn't depart until 2/11. So glad there is a new boat in town. I'd be beside myself if I had to wait until the 11th for her to sail!

Don't fear, I know some of you would rather wait for a later ship then get on a boat with my Mini. All her problems were left at the factory, she is now jinx free!!!

 

Hey GG and all you 1st Gear Maniacs! I got a few pix to prove it got here! It is so bright out here today that the paint looks orange, but I can assure you it is Chili Red! I have about 250 miles on it so far and I can't wait to finish break in so I can have some real fun with it - hee hee.

Actually when you drive a chili red too fast it becomes orange until it cools back down. Thank you for the awesome photos! Love the all red trim inside as I did the same with black but you can guarantee I tried red and even red and black too on the configurator. Wish they offered blue interior trim but o'well...

250 miles...seems like such a dream to most of us but soon it will be reality. Thank you again.

 

I've only done it like 20 times so far but then again I do still have about 7.5 hours left in the day and another 48 hour weekend to plug away at it.
