Probably because if I say anything it will include murderous undertones directed at my MA......still can't get a hard delivery date from them....have to pay for the car even though it's not here because otherwise I will have to rewrite my loan...and he acts as if I'm bothering him for calling. GRRRR
Go camp out on their lawn!!!!

OMG, I am going to be lauging all night because of your posts. And screw the tugboat, I"ll demand a new cargo ship and bring all your babies home!
Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, how much longer!! Maybe, just maybe only 2 more weeks! PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We will have to start a new thread once we all get our Mini's --- something like "2013 Production Rehab group" since we have all become addicted to posting!

Track & Trace isn't showing that my car is onboard either... Hoping we end up on one of the three ships leaving Bremerhaven in the next few days....
#4907
If you go to the sattelite view on marinetraffic.com you can see 4 minis in the queue lines, a blue one,a red one and two dark ones, oddly though, even though the ships change on that view, nothing else in the picture seems to....hmmm, strange but maybe the blue one is mine, sitting there dreaming of its new home.

You can actually make changes in your order until it's scheduled for production, or something like that. So there's a short window (well, you hope it's short) after you order when you can still change options. But once it enters production, of course, any changes require you to give up that build and get another one, which will set you back a week or two (or more...).
The Sports suspension is a factory option. I suppose the dealer could probably upgrade the suspension for you, but I'm guessing that would cost more and probably not be worth it anymore. I think the general consensus is that the Sport suspension is a pretty good deal for the $500 they charge when you build your car, but as a post-delivery upgrade your money is better spent on aftermarket parts, such as the Koni setups. Or just get a sway bar and keep the stock springs. If you're handy and have time, I think you can do these installs yourself.

Slow day...
Good news! Today my MA sent me an email to tell me that my car has been built and is waiting shipment!
So I feigned excitement, and then mentioned that in fact my car got on the Tombarra this past Sunday and is currently crossing the Atlantic, due in Port Hueneme on March 4. I gave him the link to the "How to track your mini" sticky thread. I think he may have been mildly offended, though I intended it as a helpful gesture.
In unrelated news, last night I listened to the always-interesting "Planet Money" podcast. The episode I played is "Why Buying A Car Is So Awful". You can download and/or listen to it here: http://www.npr.org/blogs/money/2013/...ar-is-so-awful
The short version: much like teachers' unions, auto dealerships have managed to get an elaborate set of laws passed that eliminates competition and makes it nearly impossible for car manufacturers to "punish" them for bad behavior. In other words, dealerships treat you like crap because they can.
To be fair, they're not all awful, and I generally like my MA. But don't expect Amazon to start selling cars anytime soon.

I'm in the same boat as you. On order, scheduled for production but no date. But, on e it all starts it goes very quickly, or at least it did for me three years ago. But my car then, seemed to hit the shipping timing perfectly. For me, it'll probably be just the opposite this time around. Good luck to you on this venture.

Too funny. I got that email to, but it was the day that she shipped so he was slightly more on the ball. Slightly, because he still said he had no info on the ship...ah well. He did his job already!

Well. I kind of did tonight, there for three hours. They took my trade, did all the paperwork, gave me a 12 countryman as a loaner and swore it was going to be there tomorrow for me to pick up on Friday. At least I'm in A countryman, not mine, but at least a countryman.

I thought i had ages to wait, but now maybe not. My OZ rims might take longer - looking at ~ 6weeks for those.

desperate measures: the great MINI count in Buenos Aires continues
So, after a week in Buenos Aires I still hadn't seen a second MINI. I'm wandering around Porto Madera and off in the distance I see what appeared to be a MINI logo. There is a tiny MINI dealership-closed for Carnaval. The small showroom had 4 MINIs artfully wedged inside. And 1 crazy American taking photos outside.
Today I'm searching for this restaurant in Palermo when I see a British Racing Green MCS with a black roof and chrome mirrors #9. It's parked right in front of my destination. From the table in the restaurant, I can see the corner of the white roof of a very small older brown car. After lunch I confirm MINI #10 is a cool looking MINI Classic.
So the current Buenos Aires MINI count is 10, count them, 10 MINIs; 4 in the wild and 6 under glass.
The change of scenery was supposed to keep my mind off Mini while I wait. Nope!

Agree about the crickets as I've been on the site all day waiting for someone to say "Something" but the other half of the time I keep checking "Tack and Trace" to see if they have started booking any Minis yet, they have NOT. Dying here....BOOK our Minis so we all can all take a breath!
If my baby doesn't make one of the two boats this weekend I am changing me PICK UP DATE ETA TO "WHEN HELL FREEZES OVER"!
EDITED: REALLY!

As for my girl, she is still awaiting transport to the port of exit as of today, despite MINI's automated system assuring me that she was being transported last Friday. I could have cried when I found out I didn't make the Tombarra that left Sunday. I pray that she'll be booked on the Tongala that leaves February 26th. Sooooo....that's 12 days till departure and then 21 at sea if she makes it.
Cheers to those of you who's babies are afloat and happy thoughts and extra patience to those of us who visit Track and Trace more often than we'd care to admit.

Wild Mini
So yesterday, I'm wondering down Av. Del Libertador and I see MINI #6 parked on the side of the street, a Chilli Red MC. Then two blocks later I come across a second MINI dealership, smaller than the one I saw the day before; this one with a 2-Mini showroom (#7,8).

I couldn't agree with you more! I'm living vicariously through those of you that have your MINI's on the way home and the posts keep me in better spirits. I'd love to at least be BOOKED on a ship by now.

Although the good news for you is that an hour after the truck leaves the VDC it'll be at the dealer - we're probably looking at a full transit day from the VDC to the dealer...
Of course I'm hoping we're actually on a boat. W&W's track and trace shows that the MINI was booked on the Honor with an ETD of Feb, 13 and the Honor is in fact underway in the North Sea enroute to Southampton. However track and trace also says that the car was received at the terminal at 10:05 on Feb 14

WE'RE ON A BOAT!!!!!!
Ok, I never really got what was so funny about that bit, but Track & Trace shows that our CM made it on the Honor which departed Bremerhaven last night and expected in Baltimore on the 27th.
Next stop Southampton on the 15th and then straight on to Baltimore!
