Now that I look at it, maybe not the best deal, but better than nothing.

I keep going outside to look at her and can't wait to get the garage built this summer. I love this car!

I think Flyinghippo was on the Ahten's Highway and is supposedly picking his Mini up tomorrow! Wondering what is up with Brunswick as they are only a short distance from Jacksonville, FL....almost wondering if my Mini is already at the dealer but being hidden from me until I explode.

Going to be watching the phone ALL day tomorrow.

 

I'm in Tampa, only about a 4 hr drive from Brunswick. I'm hoping I'm not going to be at the VDC long, not having anything extra installed, windows are being tinted by the dealer. Hoping to find something out tomorrow as my MA is off today.

Spoke with my MA today. He said the ship would dock within a day. I told him it pulled in last night!

Seems it might not be ready until Tuesday, which means I'll wait another week. I'll be heading to Albuquerque on Wednesday. Oh well...

 

Picked up Pete we just got back....10pm here I'm exhausted. Car runs like a dream. I have to rinse the underwear and shower now, cause I peed a little. No, not a girly pee, some bastard with an 18 wheeler cut me off on the Turnpike! I was worried for Pete's paintwork! BTW didn't get .9%. Everything else is fantabulous.

 

What happened to the .9? What was their reasoning? I am expecting it when mine comes in!

Make sure you check the phone for a dial tone periodically! Your MA could be trying to call but the phone isn't working...
But don't check too often, how's he going to get through if you have the phone off the hook?

 

I finally gave up with the financing thing. They said that since I ordered in December, that the rate could not be locked in once 2013 rolled around.and they refused to call Mini Financial. They just wore me down and I gave up. i pay my cars ahead anyway. And like you said, at least I got my Mini.

The floor mats are black, it's just a problem with the lighting.

 

I did not order until late January and my dealer said .9 was good until end of January and I could lock it in for 90 days. So I am expecting .9 until the end if April? You think I will have a problem getting it?

this is a major issue with ordering a car. if the car shows up and you don't get the deal you negotiated or are expecting, you must be willing to walk away. if you aren't, and the dealer knows it, they will screw you over. i'm fully expecting something like this when i get my car in a few days, and i will walk if they try to pull something on me. i'm betting they're going to try to screw me on my trade-in.

you should have paperwork from when you ordered the car with the expected financing. if so, they should then hold up their end of the deal.

Home stretch... Carcarrier the RO RO Gentle Leader left the Port of Hueneme a few hours ago. We had a chance to see the vessel up close, the cargo, and was able to "see it off" as it was escorted out to sea on to it's next destination. Awesome sight. Enjoy...

I was told the same thing about no lock on the 0.9 percent--the rate increased to 1.9 percent.

So I went to bat three weeks ago...I told them I got approval for financing the day before I did the deal; had I known it would end up costing an extra $800 in financing I would have opted for one of the discounted 2012's that I test drove. Furthermore, the email approval I had said financing was good thru February and their sales manager told me that they actually had 90 days (to mid-March). They gave me no warning about the no-lock aspect of the rate, either on the finance approval document or the sales agreement. Comparing it to a bait-and-switch, I let them know that it was going to be resolved before I find myself sitting there looking at the detailed car on the lot.

Finally, I let them (the MA and finance person) know that if they couldn't approve the 0.9 percent I wanted to talk to someone who has the authority to approve it; I didn't think it was fair to waste their time. The finance person disappeared for a few minutes and came back with approval. "We will write it up as 0.9."

That's the stand-up way for them to handle this.

 

Trying to concentrate on work today without much luck. I pick mine up at 4:00 today, the anticipation is too much. Had a nasty client call a little while ago and try to ruin my day, told him he couldn't do it and to go away forever. Gawd, that felt good!....as my fingers continue to thump, thump, thump watching the clock.
