[QUOTE=weaf27;3690591]Part 4 - After going to get the Tint done (Carbon XP) and Vinyl Graphic Artist.
Looking great, a lot like my 2011 JCW, but for the Chili Red accents. For my r59, I'd just love to do the tint, but I'd have it about 15 minutes before I received my first ticket. A DMPD officer lives three doors down the street from me. He, even accused me of tinting the windows on my 2011 JCW. How is it that you can have such a dark tint, just curious?

It is a relatively new tint (from my understanding) that is called Carbon or the better stuff that I got is called Carbon XP. (It is Non-metallic) Someone came up with it and it basically appears very black without actually blocking the sensors used by the police to measure tint see-through (or whatever they call it). This is as dark as I could go that is considered Legal in Florida. I get a long with almost anyone even many police as I know a lot of them but even they will tell you they have @-holes that like to give tickets or annoy people just because they can. Don't worry most of his fellow office probably can't stand him either.
Also the only reason I didn't get the chili red roof and mirrors is because I was afraid I'd attract tickets like a magnet.

I was just curious, as we have difficulties here in Des Moines with the law enforcement people. They, kind of like to make money for their small burgs. When I lived in another city, in Iowa, we always had problem with blue dot tail lights in our street/hot rods. I found some RED dot, rather than the blue and put them on my 32 coupe. Yes, I got pulled over and this nice officer started writing the ticket. I asked him, may I ask what this is for? He said, illegal color on the tail lights. What color would that be officer? You are getting smart, you have blue dots and they are illegal. His buddy, in the mean time was looking more closely at the lights and trying to get his attention that they were RED dots, not blue. Well to make a long story shorter, he advised me to stay out of Marion when he was on shift. I, of course, asked for his schedule and decided then and there to avoid Marion for a while. Funny in a way, but really stupid in another way.

I have twisted her **** so much that I'm afraid I'll be labeled a "pre-vert" due to her young age....

Not too hard on the Countryman... 4 bolts on top , two very stiff snap clips on the sides (one on each side) and then pull hard from the middle to pop it off...
After scraping my knuckles installing one of those badge holders on our MCS, a Ford Escape, and my GTI - this was a pleasantly bloody knuckle free experience...

thanks! the reef blue is really nice, that was what my hubby wanted, he's a huge blue fan. he's even talking about getting his own hardtop when his lease is up in the reef blue now i actually would have gone purple if they had it, but green is my second choice. besides, i've always loved brg, and this was my chance to get it! otherwise i'd have to buy a jaguar and i wasn't so interested in that lol
