My MA at South Bay just let me know I can take delivery tomorrow...! Of course, I have meetings all day, so it will have to be Thursday.

Pictures of new arrival...

I snuck over to the dealership this morning and took a few pics of our new arrival. She still has the wrap on her roof, and she is waiting for the dealer to install a short antenna, white sport stripe, and chequered flag mirror caps, scuttles and sunroof decal.

Thanks for the tips!!

OK, then surely that means mine can't be far behind, right? My MA told me this morning that he'll be notified when my MINI gets loaded onto a truck for its trip to San Jose, but I haven't heard any updates yet. Then he says it will take a day for the dealership to get it ready. Let's hope the truck leaves LA tonight...

My production number isn't even active yet and I am already excited.

It will be hard to let my first baby go, but I'm sure the new one will help ease the pain. For those of you waiting for your first MINI, congratulations!! Even after 10+ years mine makes me smile every time I see it.
I know exactly how you feel Vioet. I said about my first Mini, "It's like a vacation every time I get behind the wheel" and I felt like that the whole 7 years I had her. Sure enough, my 2013 is not disappointing me. I am finding excuses to leave the office and run an errand.

Congrats on the new order!

Hopefully you'd be close too...I guess it depends on the truck schedule at that point. Do you think that they ship BMW/MINI up north on demand, or on a set schedule? Either way, I'd bet you have it by Friday or Saturday.

My guess is that they schedule trucks whenever they have enough vehicles to fill one. So if this is a slow week, I might have to wait an extra day or two. Still, if your dealer has a delivery date, then mine ought to hear something soon. What's less clear is if they actively notify the MAs or if it's up to the MA to check.

So you think sailing around in circles waiting on Panama Canal passage is bad? How about Southampton to Baltimore/Brunswick via Spain.

Caught the Chesapeake Highway taking the long route to the US. Looked like it made a pit stop off the NW coast of Spain to fill it's tanks.

Maybe cheap gas?

Thanks, GG. It's supposed to be sunny here Friday and Saturday, so I may get to take pics with some real daylight. It was a pretty gloomy day today.

So Close

My first MINI is at the VDC and only an hour away from the dealer. The long wait is almost over.
