Congrats, not sure why White always looks nicer in real life as the model on Mini's site just doesn't do it justice.

The sunroof decal is really great and very well done by Seattle Mini. We LOVE it. It looks like a black and white chequerboard, but the black areas are sunroof with no decal, and only the white squares are the decal. I had read that when it's sunny it casts a chequerboard pattern inside the car. The view through the sunroof from inside is cool too.
congrats and you are right...forget the test drive as once you have your Mini and get to drive it ...it is soooo much more fun!

You can't see it in the pictures - but the floor mats have a JCW logo centered along the rear edge. It's a 3d badge, pretty high quality. The mats themselves are not plush at all - they are more like a woven material, somewhat similar to cordura. Very durable. The black area on the driver's side where your heels rest is plush, however. They are thin and light, and I like them quite a lot.

And yeah, it rained last night...stupid tree dropped flowers all over my car.
Thank you for the photos and love the blacked out trim...I still need to buy that for my Mini. Looks amazing...TY

I agree. We went back and forth on the colors available for the r59. I like Chili Red, but there just seems like so many out there when you go to Mini events, not that there's not an abundance of Pepper White too, I like the Kite Blue, almost pulled the trigger on that, but it just irks me that they have to charge $500 more for paint. With the quantity that BMW/MINI in Oxford buys in, and the amount of paint that they actually do use, per car can't be over $20 more, if that. Just a pet peeve of mine, that's all. My wife had a lot to do with the color too, as she thought that we've had enough black and dark colors for awhile. And, Pepper White and White Silver are the only light colors that Mini offers. So, we went with Pepper White

The Pepper White, if accented right with either black or red, I think looks really nice. I'm going to use a combination of Black trim on the head and tail lights, as well as black plastic coat on the JCW side scuttles. Then a custom Chili Red Viper stripe dealer applied. The stripe will extend past the bonnet and boot lids, down thru the bumpers. Never could understand why Mini has elected to stop the stripe at the hood and truck lids.

I place my order on March 4. Maybe they will be taking the boat ride together.

Hello everyone,
I placed my order for my Eclipse Gray Clubman S on the 24th of Feb., went into production on the 25th and given it's VIN on March 1st.
Any ideas as to when mine might be sailing over or how long production takes?
Can't wait.
Jeff

Love the color. Actually went back and forth on that and BRG. I thought BRG would look better with the black outs, so I went that direction. But your car looks wonderful.

If you are on the East Coast delivery, figure on between six and eight weeks. If you are on the West Coast (Left Coast) add four weeks, give or take a week.

Thats about what history is showing. Happy Motoring.

Wow, are you saying that since I'm on the West Coast my delivery could take up to 12 weeks?

Okay, here is the latest from my MA, (Crispin), I can't believe it, it seems so fast to me, is this normal?

"Hey Jeff,

Marius is a myth no more. In fact he not only lives, but is at the Port in England ready to board a ship and travel here to the Americas."

Best,
Crispin

nice!! sounds like my situation.. got one of the dealer prod slots. we checked the full usa database for any metallic blue cooper s coupes with the full mini connected/navi/tech packages and found zero.so they gave me a prod slot and in turn got mine scheduled within about a week or less after and vin then too.

my baby is at the port in baltimore, md and should be mn bound and here in a few weeks!

Mini-LSE,
Your dates are more of what I expected, I think I fell into the same situation as jimmyselix and got a dealer production slot. We looked all over for an Eclipse Gray Clubman S that was a manual and they were nowhere to be found, had to order it then. Kinda glad too, I got just what I wanted.
My MA said he would give me the name of the ship once it's on board so I can track it, pretty cool!
So, my next question is when it lands here in the states what does the car have to go through if anything at my dealership?

Hey there, we're almost neighbors. We're also about two weeks difference in our dates. I'm at the port waiting for the Tirranna to arrive on Monday. Raggi will arrive at Baltimore POA, then to VDC for a day or two. I'm not having anything installed there, so so time is minimal. usually that's two days from arrival. Then one day to Chicago, about the same for you too. I am having stripes added at the dealer, but I've pretty much established a delivery date of March 30th, my Easter Present to my self, oh yes, my wife too. Lots of Easter presents for Raggi when we get home. First being getting rid of those noisy, rough riding, heavy tires and wheels. Yes, Challenge wheels are heavy, look nice but still 24 lbs each. My Motegi's are 16 lbs. Going to a larger size tire, as well as non runflat. Good luck to you, maybe we can hook up on a Mini outing close.

The biggest time takers depends on whats added to the MINI at the both ports and the dealership, other than that waiting for a ship. Learned a lesson from a few people who just recently received their MINI's, don't order it before or during the holiday season. The MINI plant shuts down for what 2 weeks maybe 3? They had a long wait!

Also when Mini converts between model years, usually in August. I got caught up in that back in 2010. It doesn't really mean that there are that many changes, but there usually are paint, or free options between the years that are different. That year there was a mid life crisis change, dash got darker and made with better quality plastic, and the darkened gauges in the JCW.

This year/August, who knows what is going to happen with 2014 model year suppose to be the new F56 being introduced. Plus, to sell r series, they may make a mid cycle change on the r58/59 early, as well as on the r55 and r57, just to keep interest. Who knows, this could be a very confusing summer ordering season.

Yup what he said. That's what happened to my wife's MCC. So what the hell was the excuse this time? Got dropped in the QC black hole too long. Was breaking records with my JCW then came to a screeching halt.

But all is good now. The MINI lands in the US just as I leave for a 10 day vacation. So a slight delay until I can pick it up from the dealer (I'm guessing). It will probably beat me home to Austin.
