Tracking MINI

Whats up all,

Somewhat new here, been following y'all while down range. I recently ordered a 2013 SO MCS, R56 of course. I was informed it was at the port in Europe waiting to debark heading toward US, East Coast. Im thinking it will embark SC, and be linehauled to my dealer in NC. Couple quick questions;

1) How long does shipping take oversease from Europe port to East Coast US.

2) Which is better for tracking; VIN or production #? Really want to be able to track all the details I.e. Make/Model/Options etc...

Thanks in advance, I cant wait to start up this bad boy.

Will post PICs soon as I pick up from dealer.

Take Care...

Thanks for the response,

What data should my dealer provide me so I can keep track of this type info?

Again thanks...

The boat should be in Baltimore by 4 pm EST. I'm finally down to the wire. Since I will soon be out of town and doubt I will get my car by the 21st, I hope to schedule to pick up my car on the 28th. I will get my MA to take photos when it arrives to the dealer and post this week.

Mine landed in Brunswick yesterday. This has to be hardest part of the wait, MA said it is normally 4 to 8 days to Birmingham.

Madness it is. If your MINI is traveling to Baltimore, it took 11 hours just for the Tamesis to get from just outside the Chesapeake Bay to Baltimore itself.

Tamesis

I'm so confused! On the voyage details for Tamesis (CF319-TAM), Baltimore used to be listed once arriving on May 19 and departing May 21. But I'm looking at it now, and Baltimore is on there twice now. The second entry says it arrives on May 21 and departs May 22. So it looks like it's stopping at two ports in Baltimore? Odd. Baltimore was only listed once before.

The customs release status quantity for my VIN is still blank, too.

You might want to take some time and study this thread. I found it extremely informative. https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...d-updated.html

I can join the party, we just ordered our latest MINI (our 6th in total). This one's to replace Tristan, so he's quite similar.

Lightning Blue, White Roof/Mirror.
Black cloth/leather seats, black colour line, pepper white surfaces
Sport Package (with 17" black star bullet wheels, DTC, Sport seats, front fogs, spoiler)
Sport Suspension
Auto A/C
Auto dimming mirror with garage door opener, and compass
Rear fog light.
iPod, Bluetooth, steering wheel controls are standard

Production is scheduled for this coming week. We might just get him before the end of June if we're lucky.

I am impressed, owners lounge is updated this morning to show mine at distribution center. It unloaded Saturday in Brunswick so that is pretty quick.

Tombarra has landed in Nova Scotia! 2 days more before offload in Elizabeth NJ - I'm hoping to pick up right after Memorial Day (if I can get my "MA" to answer my emails)!

Too bad I'm not at home or I'd head over to the port and take a picture of the ship unloading in N.S. Hope it gets to you on time.

My MA hadn't been responding to my emails since April. Found out when I tried to schedule pickup this week that he doesn't even work there anymore, and no one had bothered to tell his customers.

The TAMESIS landed yesterday afternoon in Baltimore. Now let's see how long it takes my roadster to clear the BMW VDC. Better yet, how long it's going to take to get to Chicago from Baltimore. Now time for some thumb twiddling.

Thanks!

Yes, Mr. T -- customer service is not what this dealership is about. This is what happens when there's no competition. Only another two or three days and I'll have the car, so hopefully it'll all be good at that point. Definitely itching to drive it.

You say this dealership isn't about customer service? Obviously not. Can't wait to see the first pics of your new MINI.

My MA moved across the lot to the Porsche dealer owned by the same group a week after I ordered. His replacement would not return my calls. Cool thing was I got to go do a Porsche driving day last Thursday at thier driving school in Birmingham. It was awesome. I also stopped in to see my new MA the next day before driving home.

Who is on the Undine?

My CMS left Bremerhaven on May 15th and should arrive in Jersey City, NJ on the 30th. This is my second MINI. First was an '05 MCS Dark Metallic Silver that I had for 6 years. Loved that car! If I had a garage, I would have kept it forever. Dealt with a Honda CRV for the last 2 years and am very excited to be getting rid of it!

It is true that the 2nd time ordering one is tougher — you know the awesomeness that is going over the pond. Now that there is the MarineTraffic app on the iPhone it is even harder to not check where it is!

4/17/13 - Ordered ı 4/24/13 - Production started ı 4/30/13 - Body Shop ı 5/1/13 - Paint Shop ı 5/2/13 - build complete ı 5/3/13 - Released to carrier ı 5/7/13 - en route to port ı 5/9/13 - at the port ı 5/15/13 - in transit

The Chesapeake Highway is almost to the port in Baltimore. Hopefully they will unload quickly and head to Brunswick to unload my car!! I should be able to pick it up just after the weekend.
