I put in an order last week and holy smokes I'm going nuts waiting. I think I check the owners lounge at least 3 times a day. It's like when you know there isn't any food in the fridge but you keep checking anyway. This whole week has been going super slow. At least the pool is open now, so I can day dream about my car while I burn in the sun

As far as I could tell, the owner's lounge only updates daily, and lags a couple of days behind the info at 1-866-ASK-MINI.
Reading through the experiences of others, it seems like my Mini has had a pretty quick and smooth ride.

It helps to live in the easternmost Atlantic port of call, but still, it all just worked out. Should have bought a lottery ticket at the time. Usually I'm not that lucky.

Awesome. Thanks for the info. Ill give them a call tomorrow.

Next time, the dealer won't get my trade until the new car arrives, although it was worth a cool grand for me to turn it in when I ordered the car.

It was a 5 week turnaround. I was on vacation when it arrived so it sat a little longer than I wanted. It was overall a great custom car process (other than the agony of waiting). I posted a few more photos. This little car is definitely a head turner. It was great driving home from work with the top down.

Where are located (or where is you MINI being delivered to)? Shawn spent a little over 3 weeks at Southhampton, that was annoying. He just missed one boat, and the next one wasn't for 3 weeks. The boats are usually evey 2 weeks to the West coast, I think they're more frequent to the East coast.
I looked up the potential boats for the new MINI, the Tongala is leaving for Port Heuneme on the 4th, we should be able to catch that, in which case he'll land on the 26th and we should have him around the 1st of July. If we miss that, the next boat (the Tiger) is two weeks later.

For the Chicagoans out there: What dealership did you order through? I ordered my CMSA4 thru MINI of Chicago on 5/9 & it's STILL not in production yet. I finally spoke with a decent customer rep at ASK MINI & got information... Well, not a lot of information, but she was courteous & explained that certain 'options' that I put on the car could be holding it up. Is anyone else experiencing this? She recommended that I get a hold of my MA, so I sent him an(other) e-mail. I'm not so certain I'm going to fall within the 6 - 8 week threshold based on the experiences of you, that have also been waiting for your builds.
Any words of encouragement, suggestions... (Essentially I need the car before July 10th, which seems like a long ways away (42 days), until you suppose the math:
42 (days)
-8 production time
-3 union breaks
-21 to collect UK rain waiting for transport
-10 crossing the pond
-7 chillin' with the homies in the VDC
-4 days hittin' truck stops to Chicago....

If your dealer told you 6-8 weeks, you're pretty much stuck. But at 8 weeks plus a day, I'd be demanding a car to drive until the new one arrives. My dealer already offered that.

Wow, 20 days without a production seems like a looong time. I wonder if your dealer just didn't have any production slots left?? Mine went into "in production" status within a day or two and officially started building it after about a week.

I ordered mine (CMS, sans All4) from Crevier Mini in SoCal on May 18. By May 21 I had a VIN and today the Ask Mini hotline said it would be through production on June 6.
Call your dealer. maybe the website is out of whack, or call the Ask Mini number if you can get your production number from the website.
