Congrats, St_G. I'll be looking forward to the pics.

Your car looks great, Mr. T. With the black interior it would be too much. The toffy leather really makes a big difference. Good call!

Heated windshield. Button is the round button all the way to the left, right above the toggle bank , right near the Fan speed dial. This is a older R56 MINI cooper with the silver finish gauges, which the newer MINI have black. But its blank for the US as we don't get these from the factory.

Heated seats is the toggle side button.

Here a link to it where they discuss the options:

My Honey and I are on a schedule. She got hers 3 years ago. It was my turn this year. I had to do the same thing when I ordered a Gunnar Fastlane bicycle frame from Waterford Precision Cycles. My experience is that the wait is, indeed worth it when you buy a quality product.

I hope you are enjoying your ride!

Right. Mine has the button because I ordered the heated windshield option ($190). This is mostly a warm weather driver for me but I'm the type who'd be annoyed by the blank, so...

I see that you have the non Mini Connected system and the HK Premium Sound System Package. I have a similar setup in my Roadster S that is in production. Can you provide me feedback as to the sound quality of this setup? How does this system sound?

thanks

Wolf

I am scheduled to take delivery Friday. I'm wondering if anyone has noticed any specific issues that I should look for on my vehicle, i.e. scratches around keyholes, misaligned body panels, etc. I'd love a comprehensive list of specific issues to look for so I don't end up making trips back to the dealer!

I always check for cosmoline that wasn't cleaned off well after shipping. One area it seems to collect in that never gets cleaned up completely is the rear wiper base.

If you're referring to the button right below the "Max" button on the left side, this is the rear defrost bottom.

Again, this is very good to know. I appreciate your insight on the matter! And the reference to the "I have been there and back" look made me smile. Indeed, it can fit with the "Let's Motor" philosophy. But still, I'll probably need to remind myself of this perspective, on more than one occasion, should my leather seats start wrinkling on me...!

I didn't order the MINI Connect system because I wasn't going to use it functions and couldn't justify paying for it. The sound quality of the HK Premium Sound Package is beyond what I expected. In fact, I'm thoroughly enjoying it. I have the same package on my Clubman with MINI Connect and it doesn't sound as full and dynamic to me. The HK system sounds so much better in the roadster. It definitely has something to do with the cabins close confines as well as speaker arrangement. You made the right decision WolfsBane.

Here's, at least, a decent shot of the two-tone leather dash with striped aliminum, which I think looks quite nice: http://s24.postimg.org/fwp2ydhtx/IMG_6646.jpg

I'd love to see MINI offer a range of leather dashes as broad as what they offer as color lines.

One nice, unexpected (though admittedly very minor) detail of getting the Sattelite Gray dash is that it comes with contrasting light stitching on the shift boot: http://s1.postimg.org/rzii4fidr/IMG_6647.jpg

Okay, this is as close as I can come to getting the exterior to look right. It's...ballparky, but in reality there's a much stronger copper/brown/burnt undertone to it.

I like to think that the car was free, and that's the most expensive bottle of water in history.
