I was hoping to see it as well - not sure how far out AIS starts tracking. I figure with about 9 hours to go it could still be almost 200 miles away if it's on schedule. Perhaps it will show up in the wee hours of the morning while we are all asleep.
I think I'll check at 2:00 and see if it's showing up yet and then watch it crawl across my computer screen for the next 4 or 5 hours as it pulls into port.
I watched a couple other ships coming up the bay and into the harbor and the last 10 miles or so are very slow and well past the scheduled time. I'm betting it doesn't get moored at the port until 7:30, or so.
I'm always up by 6:00, want me to text you when it gets close to the port ?
Don't know about east coast CR but west coast it seems you have to be really close to the shore in some places to be in those green squares to track the ship.
Ha Ha Ohhhhh Yes I am happy I got it late yesterday..and they had it all ready for me.. I will say one thing... MINIs are just AWESOME !!! I will post a few pics tomorrow ... There is one thing that is true...The wait is well worth it!!
Ha Ha.. Well I did think the only way was hitchhiking but low and behold my friend came by and we went on our way.. Took us about 2 hours to get there.. The MINI dealership was hopping! But I can now honestly say.. I am totally happy with my MINI.. I just cant put it into words .. Very excited! These cars have come along way!!
Model year 2013 is over, at least with the Countryman (I ordered a '14 2 weeks ago). I had a production number the day I placed my deposit and a VIN within 4 days. In fact, my car has already been produced and is waiting to go to port.
Mines a Hardtop Cooper S. A little back story why I was concerned... The Tempe Mini dealer when I was trying to find a dealer to order me one told me I had less than 5 days to place an order for a 2013 before the plant closes for the 2014s. That was the 1st week of June. I order it from a different dealer who was willing to work with me on the price.
I spoke to my MA today cause I was a little tried of waiting. After two calls he finally called me back and gave me the VIN and Production number. So I looked found out its waiting for transport... Cool that its already been produced but felt like I missed out on seeing the little dot move to the different update points...lol At least I can watch the rest of the journey.
Figure i would throw my hat in the ring as well...about to place an order for a now i think 2014 JCW Paceman (mini has started production on the MY2014 as of 1July)
going with Light White/Black with Black Adaptive Xenons
Premium Package
City Package
Tech/Wired Package
18"s Dual Spoke Burnished wheels
It used to be like that, when we ordered our first one they were in short supply and the average wait was three-four months. (Even longer if you went to one of the dealers which sold them for MSRP.) It took a while to get the production number. You should get the production number a month or so before its produced.
I haven't heard of any issues like that in the US for while, the supply is good enough it usually doesn't take that long to get a MINI. Unless you've found a dealer which has run out of 2013s and is giving you a 2014 slot. They're not going into production until the end of August, the factory shuts down for a month.
I in Phoenix, AZ. I called my MA twice today and he finally called me back with a VIN and Production number. I looked it up and its already been produced just waiting to sail over The Pond. I am sure it will be a long trip filled with drinking and partying...lol
Yep... thought your absence for most of the day yesterday meant you were picking up your MINI, Zippy, my friend. YAYYYYY !!! Looking VERY forward to seeing your pics !!
Pirate, congrats on your order and welcome to the Waiters Club !
CR... I made it home safe and sound!! Once the weather clears up I will snap a pic of it.. Whats the latest on yours? Do you have it in your driveway yet?

I'm in the Phx area too. Which dealer? I know MINI of Tempe pretty well. Which MA?
UPDATE: I read your earlier post that it was Scottsdale. I'll give Tempe this, I had my prod # and Vin # within a few days of ordering. Guess that's why they call it "Snottsdale" lol. Sorry to read about your lack of communication from your MA. FYI, the ship will take about 21 days to get to CA once underway. If you need help tracking her, let me know.

Great to hear, Zippy ! Is it all you hoped for and more ??
Long way from being in my driveway. Ship is approaching the coast. One AIS signal at 4:00 this morning and none since. The receiver must have been on an island or something. LOL Looks like a late afternoon docking of the ship. Once the dealership has it, I'm expecting them to have it a week or so, maybe more if the clearbra guy or the outside vendor drag their feet. Until then, I'll live off your joy, if that's okay.

How did you get black adaptive? I ordered my 2013 several weeks ago and to was either black or adaptive, but not both. Has that changed for 2014?
