It's beautiful ! And spice orange is a color that is still pretty rare, which is nice.

Is that the rule of thumb on break-in? Keep the rpm under 4k till 1200 miles? That's what they were telling me... That's not easy at all!!!!!!!!

No kidding, even on a Justa with sport button, the 4k thing is killing me. I'm at 964mi now, just counting the days haha

Welcome back to the thread zippy, nice MINI.

CR: dealer visits before pickup are such self torture.

Keep the revs under 4,500. I said 4K to leave a little room to accelerate when needed. But yes, under 4500 for the first 1200 miles and vary the drive. Don't do all 1200 on the interstate or all in the city traffic.

Q: that was a bit of torture. But on the other hand, it was nice to see that everything looks as good as I hoped... actually better.

I have been following the break in rules for my car. However I heard from the BMW mechanic that its good to drive the car hard in the beginning so the piston seals go into place. I can't get myself to follow his advice. It says in the Manual to break the car in.

Ohhhhhh yeah..... jumping on the accelerator and letting that turbo do it's thing is going to be so tempting. Having spent 7 years driving in Germany made an adreneline junkie out of me so it's going to be a bit torturous during the break in.

So she cleaned up nice after taking the boat straps off, that's good.

Supergreg: nice MINI, colors slow nice.

I told my better half already That this CM was hers, although I do most of the driving. But when our business takes off a bit more, I told I get my pick of a Hardtop. She pointed to a JCW white/red on the lot and said she liked that one... Haha I don't even have to convince her about a JCW :D

I agree with him. That's what I was told by more than one person.

Yeah, I think you drive it as hard as you can without going over the 4500 RPMs very often. In other words, wind it up in the lower gears quite a bit.

Q: you have it made ! JCW, here you come !

Just think, this is your car, and the guy that is supposed to be cleaning it is breaking it in for you.

My understanding is the CMS does have it but the JCW does NOT have it, but until I get mine and see (or hear) for myself, I won't know.
