Sweet! I didn't think of asking them. I was trying to figure out how I was going to match those ducts to the mirrors, without purchasing extra ducts and another mirror. You just saved me some $!

Aren't they also painted ? Not sure if it would be cheaper, not costing me very much to have mine painted.

Of course, I have to hope that they'll be able to match that color. Off to email my MA...

One more thing CR, was it that much of an upgrade is cost to go full bonnet? I may see if they'll do the boot lip as well under their originally quoted cost.

The full bonnet clear bra was quite a bit more than the half-bonnet. Like $450 more. I did have them throw on the rear bumper top surface for nothing.

Geez...wouldn't have figured THAT much. I might not have any appendages left to drive since I've already given up and arm and a leg...

May be tough finding an aftermarket installer who can do a full bonnet, they probably never have done one on a MINI before. The installer at the dealership has done a few and is willing to do it, just at a considerably higher price due to the expertise required to manually cut the top edge.

Won't hurt to ask your dealership if their guy does full bonnets.

Yeah, I understand. The price gave me a bit of a shock too. But considering this is my Mid Life Crisis MINI... I said F It... going to get it just the way I want it.

Yep... once the Mod Bug hits... Ka-CHING !!

I sat down once and computed all the cost of my mods on my 06 Justa and it was a few thousand bucks and hardly any of them were performance mods. Mostly just aesthetic stuff. Yikes !

Don't suspect I'll be doing many to my JCW... it will come pretty much the way I want it. Of course... I have been known to change my mind.

You come my way and you won't have to pay for a hotel.

Guess your dealership has never done one... interesting. Of course, my dealership is the second largest one in the U.S.

You mean, open it wider...I put together a "small list" of things I want (non-performance) and it was a small fortune. This is going to be an expensive little car. This isn't my mid-life crisis car, but at 34 is about time I got to purchase a car I wanted rather than something to get me to/from work.

Yeah, it's plastered all over their website.

I assumed they were red plastic. Looks like they match the CR to me.

Yeah, that's what I meant, Zippy... never done a full bonnet. Cool ! I hope you can make it to this area and spend at least part of your time here with me. Warning, I have a teenager who talks a LOT.

The ones on the GP sure look like their Chili Red but yeah, I shouldn't assume they are painted. They might just be red throughout which would be nice because if they get chipped up, still red.

Our Countryman has about 10K miles on it now and the brake duct inlets on it haven't been knicked up yet. Of course, watch my freshly painted ones get dinged on the ride home.

Did it cost you more than $58.95 to have them painted?

By then, I hope to have him trained on driving the manual transmission in the 05 Justa. He doesn't know much about MINIs yet but he is learning the go-cart driving is much different than the SUV he's been learning to drive since he got his permit last November. He'll be more likely to talk your ears off about girls, "screamo" music, and his pending entry into the Air Force. Sure you can deal with it ?

About twice that. Is that all the GP duct inlet covers cost ? Wow, I would have thought much closer to $100.

I guess I mentioned this mod a day late... mine were painted today.

Yeah, $58.95 at Outmotoring. Just curious if I was missing something, since I have thought about doing it too. Still undecided. Thing is, front bumper will have to be removed to install DRL's so...

Looks like they are painted if you look close at the bottom right image. Don't know if GP ones are or not, since I don't know if these are OEM, or if Outmotoring paints the black ones.

Would look very sharp on your MINI, SG. In fact, people might confuse your MINI for a GP with those ducts.
