I was the first in my family, 23 year Air Force vet. Didn't even have to talk him into it... he is dying to start. Should find out what his career field is sometime in the next six weeks.

Yeah, $58.95 at Outmotoring. Just curious if I was missing something, since I have thought about doing it too. Still undecided. Thing is, front bumper will have to be removed to install DRL's so...
Looks like they are painted if you look close at the bottom right image. Don't know if GP ones are or not, since I don't know if these are OEM, or if Outmotoring paints the black ones.

Good for him! Nice..23 years.. I was active army for two then went into the NG and worked fulltime at Camp Ripley..

You mean, open it wider...I put together a "small list" of things I want (non-performance) and it was a small fortune. This is going to be an expensive little car. This isn't my mid-life crisis car, but at 34 is about time I got to purchase a car I wanted rather than something to get me to/from work.
Yeah, it's plastered all over their website.

Air Force and Navy here. My family is also multi generation military. And my stepson is a 3rd generation Navy serviceman.

I've had protection packages put on four different cars by three different installers, and none of them brought up any issues with the full hood - ezcept the price, which is $300 more for a MINI around here.

That sounds like the voice of inexperience, Zippy. I'd suggest another installer. (Every car is hard if you don't know what you're doing.)

ECS Tuning sells a lot of genuine MINI parts, including the red GP2 ducts here: http://www.ecstuning.com/Mini-2011-C...uct/ES2627468/
I won't say this is the definitive answer on painted red vs. molded in red, but maybe a quick e-mail to ECS would get you the answer.

So, this is interesting, slightly. Go to the W&W page to see if a vehicle is loaded, but instead of your VIN in the cargo field, enter this booking number in the booking number field. I got this from my page where the booking number was shown.
DEBRB1123440
That is a listing of all 1,440 vehicles. I guess WM* are Minis, WB* are BMWs, and I don't know what RR's VIN is (WR? RR?). There is one on that ship, but they don't seem to be in any order I can tell.
Like I said, slightly interesting.

Aw, man... you are SO close, Spa. But picture this: a hamburger instead of a hot dog. Ketchup dripping out the sides. Chili Red ketchup, of course. Some White Silver sliced onions poking out of the bun. Now you get the picture ? You know how I am about everything on my MINIs matching the color scheme!

Hey CR & zig,
My best mod advice for you is to replace the rear sway bar with a 22mm larger bar. I installed the nm one, and it has totally changed the handling for the better. Best performance bang for the buck IMO. Now, the rear end feels like it follows the front end around corners, Instead of feeling like its being pulled. Quicker turn in, and faster acceleration out with no understeer. Love it!!!

I know you were talking to Zip... But what did that cost you (ballpark is fine)?
#8849
MSRP on the nm bar is $299. Due to a dealer misquote, I got it for $230. Paid $135 labor to install at a MINI tuner shop. There are less expensive brands. My only reco is to make sure to get a bar with forged ends.

How about you? Are you having items being installed at the VDC?
