Quicker turn in, and faster acceleration out with no understeer. Love it!!!

Good advice, SG... going to make a note of this for future reference. Maybe near future.

How about you? Are you having items being installed at the VDC?
Yup. Driving lights (black trim) and the JCW instrument cluster, because it is the stupidest thing in the world that there is no temp gauge. For the 2nd gauge I got the next to worthless Lateral G indicator, but I figured that was better than the worse than useless Relative Torque indicator.

Not sure why there is no choices for oil pressure, oil temp, boost, etc. You know, those useful things.

Oh, and locking wheel lugs, but not sure if that is VDC or dealer, but in any case, that should be about 5 minutes total.

True to form, the OL shows my car still on the boat. They need to spend a few dollars and hire someone from Amazon Cloud Services to revamp their ability to track things online.

If there was only enough $$ for one mod, this would be it. The difference is truly amazing!!

They need to redo the whole website from scratch.

This time, no flash.

Exactly. The flash configurator has an HTML 5 version that works with tablets, but the OL doesn't. Once I log in with my iPad, I just get a blank screen.

Flash is dead, and Mini should banish it from their stie.

I tend to be of a more practical nature when it comes to instrumentation. An Openometer is an "OK" eye candy type of instrument, but serves no real purpose in monitoring the important hardware or software. I'd would have rather had an usable oil or coolant temperature guage.

The North American Mini site has more issues than their configurator, though. That site is down just about every other night. They really need to invest some financial resources into a more usable, dependable, and user friendly site.

And now my girl is showing as being discharged at Port Hueneme. And yes, EHans, my ride is also still showing as still en route on the Tiger on the OL. Terrible resource.

Warning ! Cat coming out of bag !

The one mod I was keeping to myself if not going to happen, at least not for now.

I was going to have a vendor that works with the dealership paint my Star Bullet Wheels... the spokes gloss black and the "triangles" between the spokes Chili Red.

But... they only have done one set before and they had a rough time matching up the Chili Red. Apparently the paint appears different on the alloy wheels then on the car.

Not risking a mismatch because I'm too damn picky to live with it and for $1150, I'll pass for now, until they can do more and come up with a better paint match.

And hell... seeing my MINI on Wednesday, the wheels look pretty damn good anyway and maybe the red JCW calipers will pop more without wheels that blend in with them.

Sorry to hear that it won't work out immediately, but that sounds pretty sweet. Hope to see some pics some day.

BTW: I contacted the dealer about getting my brake ducts custom painted...$400

They have a sample wheel at the dealership and it's stunning. But you hold it up to a JCW with red calipers and red mirror/roof... the red is too orangy. Maybe they'll perfect their color matching some day and then I'll get it done.

$400.... yikes ! Get them aftermarket and change them out yourself !

That's it?
Did you photoshop it first to see how they would look? Agree that calipers will show up more. Get the drilled slotted rotors up front, they look awesome!!

Yep, that's it.

I saw them on a MINI that only had red stripes and they looked awesome. If they matched Chili Red better, they would look amazing in my JCW.... but I'd rather have them stock than a red that didn't match REALLY well.

I do like the look of the drilled rotors but didn't opt for them, SG. Maybe when I get sick of brake dust and swap out my pads for low-dust pads, I'll go for the slotted/drilled rotors then.

Yeah, but I'm looking to get them painted to match the green mirrors (and green JCW side stripes)

I'll be on the look out for the sample wheel next time I'm down there.

They keep it behind the counter of the parts desk.

And hey... since you want your brake duct inlets a custom color, go for it ! It's a dramatic effect and the $400 will be pennies per month over the life of the MINI.

Definitely still going custom with the ducts, just need to see if I can do it cheaper outside of the dealership. Hopefully, I'll be able to get one of the mirrors (the dealership already has them) and can use that to paint match.

I have a few feelers out there already for the work.

You might be able to find an aftermarket tint or sign shop that can color wrap them in vinyl for you too.

I think instead of driving lights, I may upgrade my Fogs to the new LEDs when they finally hit shelves here in the states.
