Well, Ask Mini says that my car is at the port awaiting a shipping vessel, so maybe she is going for another boat ride.
Useless tracking system.
That's nothing... they told me that mine was still just a dream in my head and wanted to know when I was finally going to get off the fence and order one.
Only half joking... I got an email from MINI USA just last week asking me if I'm still interested in ordering a MINI. Guess they got my email address from USAA car buying service after I was playing round on their website with builds.

I received one offering me a $500 credit if I'd order one after June 18th - little late now - but I did use the $500 USAA is offering.
Yeah, MINI of Baltimore doesn't participate in the USAA Car Buying Service. When I pointed out I could have gone to another dealership that is just as close and gotten it, my MA gave me the $500 off, just a bit reluctantly.

Well that works! I didn't use the service either but they did discount it the $500 and that was after I had negotiated the deal.
You guys breaking in your MINIs, are you hearing the Pop & Burble ?
YES indeed. And its freaking addictive. I'm also getting 31 mpg so far, and I keep hearing it'll get better after break in. This not going over 4k is killing me though (I may have cheated once or twice so far).
The automated system still has me at Southhampton waiting on a ship.
Talking to an actual representative, my car has already been through the VDC, had it's final inspection, and was already loaded on a truck and it's on the highway and on it's way to the dealer in Portland.

Awesome... the pop and burble is one of the things I'm most looking forward to about my JCW.
I think if you cheat on the 4500 RPM rule a few times, it's not going to do any harm. I bet it's very easy to get there if you give the pedal just a decent push.
Just found out I'm on the California Highway! Should be docking in Brunswick on the 24th. My 8 week order is looking more like 10-11 when it's all said and done. Can't wait!!
Was able to verify my car is on a vehicle delivery truck on its way to the dealership. Now... I have to see when I can schedule time off to make the 400 mile trip to Portland.

I just ran a quick errand to the store. Pulling into the parking lot in first after letting off the gas, Pow Pow. Too cool
I had a 2012 R56 "S" as a dealer loaner car last September and I hated to take it back because I got addicted to the POP POP CRACK noises on decceleration in just the two days I had it.
If my JCW pops, burbles, and cracks as much as that one, I will be quite happy about it.

Hey CR & zig,
My best mod advice for you is to replace the rear sway bar with a 22mm larger bar. I installed the nm one, and it has totally changed the handling for the better. Best performance bang for the buck IMO. Now, the rear end feels like it follows the front end around corners, Instead of feeling like its being pulled. Quicker turn in, and faster acceleration out with no understeer. Love it!!!
