Thanks SuperGreg & CR. I agonised over the decision not to have a black roof but am very pleased with the outcome.
WolfsBane - Perhaps there should be a check box during the ordering process that asks if you have a plan in place should your significant other decide your new vehicle is now theirs !

Oh, one more thing. Has anybody ever had the Blackjack mirrors. Thought they might be a nice touch but would like some opinions considering I have the Pepper White roof.

This is how motoring should look, advancing the miles, increasing the smiles!

I had blackjack on a dark silver/ silver before, but i got the vinyl that went over the chrome mirrors, so the white was really chrome. It looked good on dark colors. I like the clean white/white you have there.

BTW CR, my MA said they do participate in the USAA car buying service, but you need to buy from dealer inventory.

My wife already asked if I was going to greet it at port, although I think she was joking.

Well, that sucks. What are the odds of finding a MINI in their inventory that matches the your build ? After all, what do they say... for every 100,000 MINIs out of the factory, no two are identical ?

Which dealership are you dealing with ?

Baltimore. Their selection of manual CMs is/was pretty limited (currently have 7) and they all basically have the same options. I'm guessing that having one transferred from another dealership would have also counted.

Yeah, their inventory is one of the biggest in the country and I bet they would count it even if they had to get it from another dealership. Still... hard to find one just like your build.

You ever participate in any dealership activities ? They have their annual car show coming up next month.

Haven't as of yet, but would like to get involved (as well as with local clubs). I'll check it out. Thanks for the heads up.

Sure... I paricipate in a few events each years with Central Maryland MINI Motorists (C3M). Check them out and join in... you can participate a lot (nearly every weekend there's something going on) or very little. They do some pretty cool events.

Unless you want an automatic, I'd say chances of finding anything close to what you want in inventory are slim to none.

I'd be interested in knowing:
  • What percentage of Minis are Automatic vs Manual
  • What percentages of customer ordered Minis are Automatic vs Manual

I'd wager custom order manual percentages are much higher than the average for Mini overall.
