My CM finally landed on US soil today...and I was finally able to log into OL...figures. Let's hope he gets wrapped up quickly at VDC and is delivered to the dealer tomorrow (and that my MA send me a picture!)
Excellent ! Should be at the dealership no later than Thursday.
What's the latest on your vinyl ? Giving up on it and going aftermarket ?
Yeah...for a color that MINI offers, no one knows what the color code of the neon green (Alien Green) is. So now my decision is do I just forgo the mirrors from MINI and buy a set of primed mirrors and do it all myself after I take delivery (less stress and probably a smidge cheaper) or hold out until right before delivery to see if I learn anything new.
Right now, I'm leaning towards waiting, but will follow up with my MA in the morning to make sure the mirrors and scuttles don't go on until the day I pick up...just in case.
If I go aftermarket, I'll probably go Kelly Green instead of the neon.
I might do the aftermarket thing if I were you. Then you're not tied to the color green MINI offers on those mirror caps. You can pick any shade of green you want, have a vinyl shop do the stripes, then take your mirror caps to a body shop and have them computer match the color.
Either way you decide, can't wait to see the finished product !
Question for those who've had multiple minis–what is your typical break-in routine? I've read things like change the oil at 500 miles. Anything else? (first new car)
Your car is arriving at Port Hueneme and your location is South Jersey?
My wife and I won the Roadster on Wheel of Fortune. Since the car dealership (Nick Alexander Mini) that sponsored the car is based in LA, the car has to come with their allotment. Once it gets to their dealership, they are loading it on a flatbed and delivering it to my driveway in Jersey... I'm guessing the cross country drive will take a week?

Probably, unless it is a team. They can do it in 3 days. I hope it is in a covered trailer.
Man, that sucks it added a minimum of a month to take a grand tour of the Americas to make it back to your door.
Still, free car. Cannot beat that! (I know, not free after taxes, but still, at least 67% off!)
