So happy for you, Lili ! It's easy to feel your enthusiasm for your Bayswater MINI !
Yes, pass that compliment on to your parents, please.
It feels so great to be understood! As for most people, a car is just, a car...

Thanks so much Zippy!!! I was still in awe of my Camden after 3 years, admiring its look and enjoying every drive. Now the feeling is even more intense with my Bayswater! Sure looks like I picked a perfect 2nd MINI for me! Yeah, that new car smell is even noticeable in my garage. Not that I randomly (i.e. every chance I get) open the door to my garage to catch a glance of my new MINI (and to enjoy that fresh out of the box smell). Nope, not this girl!
I was at the parts counter for about 10-15 minutes. Maroon polo, gray goatee. My JCW was parked in the first row in front of the building.
How funny.
Anyway, how did it got on your visit there, learn anything about your MINI ? Any progress ?
Today was pick up day (first '14 they've delivered)! Will have to back for the clear bra, but didn't want to wait for two weeks! Drives like a dream! Puts a smile on my face just thinking about it. Looking forward to a proper 'first run' since we immediately drove from MINI to Sams Club, then got stuck in traffic on the way home. Will be going out after dinner tonight and in the morning tomorrow!
Will post a few pictures later (having a good drink and dinner, first); will keep it low key until I get him properly put together with all his green bits!
SG... 5000 RPMs is surely one of the sweet spots for the JCW power train. I've driven some nice cars in my days but this JCW is going to easily end up being my favorite.
Lili... that's a great pic ! Have any more ? How are you enjoying your MINI after a full day of ownership ?
01.... CONGRATS !! So glad you picked it up, even if you're not as patient with the dealer installed bits as I was. Enjoy !! Looking forward to your pics !
And thanks for the little jab, Spa. At leat I'll have some green mirrors (although they won't be on the car). Hopefully swatches come in early this week.
Geez, that wasn't a jab. With all the places that color is being used (at MINI and other companies, including my own), I can't figure out why it's so hard to get the right vinyl. I think the color combination will look really sweet when you get it figured out.
Received a few compliments on it even before it was officially mine! The anthracite wheels perfectly compliment the body color! And the beige door panels work awesomely with the ceiling! It's dreamy!

Excellent... so nice to hear good things about your new MINI, isn't it ? And that CMS A4 is a very nice ride... pretty darn quick yet comfortable too. We love ours!

just kidding! My MA and I were still talking about it while we were going over the car today. They apparently have the same problems for their standard colors (not knowing the color codes).
Give that thing some gas and break those rings in!!! Ask any mechanic, they will tell you to jump on it early.
Nope - There's a great difference of opinion on this, but I've always been on the side of the engineers on this one. I've broken in more than 50 new engines this way, including race engines, and never had an oiling, ring or bearing problem.

Great thread. As one of those waiting (MCS Hardtop) I really appreciate seeing everyone's delivery stories and reading about how happy everyone is with their cars.
Bugs already all over the front (need to schedule clear bra on Monday!).
Took it (and my mother) for a Starbucks run this morning and got a few pops from the exhaust. My mom was really impressed (not by the pops) and has moved it up her short list for her next car; was even able to put to rest some of the misnomers she had heard about the CM.
It is even more fun to drive than I could have ever imagined!
Wait a cotton pickin' minute, 01... you already got pops?? Geez, our CMSA4 has never popped a year+ and 12,000 miles into ownership. Heard they really don't pop much at all. What kind of secret CMS exhaust did you get ?

It got me through my delivery (39 days from order to delivery)

lol...just ran up the revs in second and let off the gas. Doubt they're as special as they will be on a broken in 2013 JCW HT, but definitely nice to hear (don't even think I was in sport mode) with only 60 miles on the odometer.
And yes, it was only a few pops and not consistent, but brought a smile to my face.
Unfortunately not: too much to do around the house to prepare for about 20 family visitors tonight. You'll have great weather for the ride down and back - it's gorgeous outside!
We should organize a drive with the "local" newbies one weekend.
