Today was pick up day (first '14 they've delivered)! Will have to back for the clear bra, but didn't want to wait for two weeks! Drives like a dream! Puts a smile on my face just thinking about it. Looking forward to a proper 'first run' since we immediately drove from MINI to Sams Club, then got stuck in traffic on the way home. Will be going out after dinner tonight and in the morning tomorrow!
Will post a few pictures later (having a good drink and dinner, first); will keep it low key until I get him properly put together with all his green bits!

Memo to anyone with a new MINI: it's a nice day today - go for a drive on the curviest roads you can find!
However, I do have a caution for you: I just got back from a spirited 80-mile drive, and if you run the whole time with the windows and sunroof open, you'll get a little bug jerky on your shirt (and elsewhere, so try to keep smiling to a minimum). You've been warned!

I have ordered a black MCS Hardtop pretty loaded (Navi, leather, automatic [traffic], etc)
I just landed on this thread a bit late so I'm already a few weeks into my wait. Expecting delivery around the 14th or so.

Enjoy that good lookin Countryman!

Thanks! Of course I have more... But look at that one... Last pic I took from inside my Camden, as I was arriving at the dealership to pick-up my Bayswater. Made me think of your JCW!

It may not be your dealer's fault, unless he sold you a car without having an allocation for it.
Oxford works in mysterious ways; my car went from order to completion in 10 days and then sat at Oxford for 23 days before being shipped to the port. Plus, you're at the very end of the R56 production run, which is happening at the same time the factory is gearing up for the new F56.
Call 866-ASK-MINI and ask a real human if any trouble codes show up on your records. There could be something temporary going on like a hold for parts, a higher-than-expected number of final R56 orders or the position of the moon.

(and that is after I complained to my dealer about long delivery, original production week was week 43!! which would have made me skip delivery to 2014, more than 1/2 year!).

How many miles on your Baswater MINI, Lili ?
I just hit 400 on mine, 9 days into ownership.

MINI USA confirmed our MINI is aboard the Fidelio. Not bad, but of course the OL still says awaiting transport even tho she left on the 2nd. So now I am watching a red dot move across the Atlantic. After hearing of some of the wait times I am feeling pretty lucky. Fingers crossed lucky horseshoe up and rabbit foot in hand we should get the MINI in late August or a little under 2 months from order. Nothing we are having done happens at the VDC. Just well wishes that she is fine in transport. Bummer that the Fidelio lands on a Friday. I'm pretty sure the VDC is closed for the weekend, but who knows. Not MINI USA anyway. I asked!
Just felt like updating plus venting, so thanks for listening. Nice pics everyone. Glad to hear about the miles racking up. Really, really hope I have Labor day weekend to get through some of the break-in.

Hi everyone it looks like its time for me to join in the waiting room here. Iv placed an order about 2 weeks ago and I'm still waiting for my order number. I haven't had a chance to start calling up the MiniUSA hotline yet to get some relief from them yet.
I have started wondering what others who have had to pick up their car from a dealer around 250 miles away did as far as engine break in? I know there are two schools on this hard and by the book both of them however suggest avoid same rpm long drives.
Has anyone just left it on cruse control all the way home or were you doing some creative driving?

Follow the directions in the Owner's Manual. Using cruise control for 250 miles on a brand-new engine likely will cause long-term harm and shortened longevity. Beyond the engine issues, you also need to bed in the brakes the first few hundred miles - cruising down the highway won't do that.

Did you order a Craven Replacement Dipstick for your '13?
I remember a few of you saying here that you were going to install a Craven dipstick on your 2013 MINI. I tried installing mine this morning and discovered the **** may not be the right size for the dipstick tube in my JCW - it fits very loosely and rattles around. The O-ring is a little bit loose too. The diameter of the **** is far enough off that it makes me wonder if MINI recently started using a tube with a different diameter. (Maybe we got the 2014 tubes from the F56 by mistake, and my spy-shot video of the '14 dipstick tube will make it on all the car blogs!)
Sorry, back to reality: I sent Craven a quick video, and they said the fit should be tight - so I'm returning the first one and they're sending me a new one. So, be sure to check the fit on yours before you motor down the road, or your expensive MINI synthetic oil soon could be protecting the outside of your new engine!
BTW, the folks at Craven were quick, efficient and all the other things a good company should be. i also bought the Craven FlexPod Fixie Mount for my iPhone, and it installed easily and works great.
