Is the status they give different than the status you get from the automated system for you to?

 

Just picked up a 2013 Lightning Blue MCS and my voice dial doesn't work. MA told me it may be a separate feature that is not part of the Bluetooth option on '13??? Does this sound right at all? For those that have voice dial working, what options do you have?

 

+1 more for '13 with voice not working. Bluetooth is fine. Lack of voice is not a biggie for me. It'll get fixed sooner or later. I'm still just really happy to have my car!

 

Exactly how I feel; especially since the dealership is 2 hours away from me.

The voice dial button wouldn't be included on the steering wheel if the option wasn't installed so your MA has gotta be wrong.

Soon2b congrats on picking up your car! I have voice dial and mine is working. Takes a few prompts - Telephone - phone book - say name. There may be another way but I need to read the manual.

My voice button does nothing as well
You say yours works does it make a noise when you push the button on the wheel and what options do you have on the car?

 

Yeah it makes a tri-tone. I have connected (tech package). You should then be able to give it commands.

 

That was my point/thought. MA said all come with the same wheel, regardless of the options.

Wondering if voice dial is a Connected only feature for '13? I don't have Connected. My button doesn't make a sound or anything.

 

To the discussion about voice commands on the '13 models. I got the impression from reading the manual that one needed MINI CONNECTED in order for the voice command to work.

For those with a '13 and voice command working, do you have MINI CONNECTED? What about those with the voice command not working?

I just passed the break-in mileage on the way home from the airport late last night. I'm looking forward to my next drive and crossing the 4.5k RPM barrier!!

 

Picked up my Babe last night. My MA is very thorough; I got a meticulously detailed walk-through. That, and the fact that the guys handling the trade-in of my Prius and the paperwork were very, very slow, meant that delivery took forever. My appointment was for 4 PM, and it was nearly 8 by the time I got home (and I live only about 20 minutes from the dealership). Naturally, it was raining, so I couldn't drop the top on the way home (but I did this morning!). But none of that matters. As everyone else has been saying, the wait was TOTALLY worth it.

Unfortunately, I can't post any pics yet. My iPhone 4 was stolen a few weeks ago, so I'm using an old 3G, which is refusing to email photos or to connect to iCloud. I'm not going to put myself through the frustration of trying to work around it, since the iPhone 5 is due out so soon. In the meantime, you can see what she looks like by doing a Google image search for "mini highgate S."

Cheers to everyone who's taken delivery recently, and to everyone who's just now starting production! The wait is long, but this place makes it fun. It'll be over before you know it!

 

bronte - congrats on taking delivery. I got lucky and was in and out pretty quick. My MA had everything ready and the finance department was ready as well. It took me about 10 minutes in finance, the rest of the time was playing with new features in the car that I didn't know about with my MA.

For everyone starting this journey, have fun with it! When your car arrives all of the anxiousness of waiting will be replaced with joy!

 

Yes I do have Mini Connected

 

I have mini connect and the voice button does work. My 06 mini had the phone button on the wheel but it never did anything, so in the past mini has put buttons on the car that dont do anything

 

No change in my order status yet - anyone having any joy with theirs?? Been 3 weeks and a day now since I ordered

 

I'm going though the same thing. Mine is 4 weeks to the day since I ordered. I did call 866-ASK-MINI and they told me my car went into production yesterday however still no update on the site. Hopefully they're telling me the truth

 

My advice would be to not really bother with the site. The automated phone system is much better. The site is at least 24 hours behind the phone system and has less status changes. The only value I've seen from the web page is that you can get the VIN from it once production starts.

 

I ordered a coupe on July 27th. I called on Monday and my car had gone into production. The website was just updated today to reflect the VIN so we are getting somewhere. My projected completion is September 7th. Hopefully all goes well.

 

Ordered August 9: 3 weeks ago today. Can't even register for an account in the OL, they're guessing that you can't do it until production (said the nice woman at ASK-MINI this morning). I know I'm not in production yet, but weren't some of you able to get an account on there pre-production? I'd like to unsubscribe from this thread and just wait for the call that says "your MINI's on the lot, come on by!" But as you all know, that pretty much ain't gonna happen.

 

I was able to register for the OL about a week after the order was placed by the dealer. I think there is a delay between when you receive your production number and when you can register, but I certainly didn't have to wait until I was in production.
