Zippy, just take a triangular metal file and file two or three knotches in your current dipstick and save $80 :P
Is that what you did? Ive heard of this being done.. Ive check my oil a few times and I have been just checking it first thing in the morning... so basically the engine sits over night... I can read my original just fine that way... When do you check yours?

Considering the OEM dipstick was quite tight, and that I'd never risk a dipstick coming loose while driving, you should be comfortable getting one. Or do the mod on the OEM like SG recommends..... either and you'd be fine.

Isnt that the way we like things// "tight" I don't need something popping off down the road!!
This is more than an O-ring problem, IMHO. I think it would rattle around in the top of the tube if I'd left it in. I'll let you all know what happens.
And SuperGreg, checking the oil will never be the same for me ...

Haven't been asked to upgrade my dipstick yet...so I'll hold on tight to what I have for now.
Forgot to post that I was given the 'survey' speech when I pick up this weekend...I was pretty disheartened. Don't guilt trip me into giving you 10's because it affects your bonus. There needs to be a better way to express the importance of the survey without making the customer feel guilty.
