Things I've learned since hitting 1,200 miles 24 hours ago:
Now shut down your computer and go drive your new MINI!
Spa you are too funny.
Question to all - What is your average gas mileage? I'm driving mine pretty aggressively in city driving and I'm getting around 27 to 28. I'm sure with a conservative road trip I can get in the low 30s.
I would say im getting close to the same.. But to be honest I haven't really checked my mpg yet... Im still in the break-in period.. It will get better...Spa your lucky!! ha ha
Color has been picked and stripe design approved! Ordering brake ducts today so I can get them painted now that I have a color.
Windows tinted tomorrow and hopefully clear bra on Friday.
Hope to have stuff on the car soon!!! The wait is going to kill me (sort of feels like I'm waiting for delivery all over again)!
Well im glad to hear you have everything falling into place for you now.. It does take time to get your MINI just the way you want it!! I feel your pain ha ha .. Ive ordered a few things and have put a few goodies on already... I cant wait to see your finished product I honestly think its going to look great!!
I can't believe such a beast of an engine can produce that kind of MPGs !
Funny... over the past 30 years, the appearance of automobiles has not changed that much. But damn, the technology in the power train and other systems has made gains by leaps and bounds.
Every day I'm becoming more sure I'm going to add the GP2 rear diffuser. I'm sitting at about 60% sure of it now.
I had the jcw rear spoiler put on..also the driving lights will be put on in a couple of weeks.. little things like that..and of course a few little tid bits..but once its done I WILL post pics...the spoiler has already made a difference But ive been looking at GP2 rear diffuser also... curious what that costs?

Me too. Are you going to install it yourself or have the dealer do it? I haven't seen a complete set of instructions yet, but I have seen that getting all of the pieces and brackets lined up perfectly is a little fiddly - which makes me wonder if I can do it on ramps or jack stands in my garage.
I know that Way Motor Works, Detroit Tuned and ECS Tuning all sell the kit. I bought a bunch of stuff for my GTI from ECS, and always got great prices and service from them - but I have no experience with the other two. Does anyone else?

Reason: Sources...
I believe I can tackle that install myself, Spa. I intend to use my jack stands, then install everything without tightening it down. Then adjust everything and then tighten down the bolts. I'm not the most mechanically inclined person but this doesn't seem like that would be a requirement.
The best price I found last week when researching was on Sewell's site. It was less than $300. I believe they have a NAM discount code, too.
My impatient wait is nearly over. Got the call yesterday that my MCS is at the dealership and ready to be picked up. I couldn't get it yesterday but I drove over and looked at it after hours. Looks great with the JCW interior package. I plan on picking it up after what is likely to be the longest work day ever today. Thanks for the support. I didn't comment much but I did enjoy lurking and seeing everybody's photos.

I'm in beautiful ole' California but I still have been anxiously tracking my buddy! He's currently on the toronto and will be docking New Jersey tomorrow. Maybe in a week he'll be in upstate NY at the dealer? I don't even understand why I am so excited when I can't even drive my car!
I definitely will. Might be difficult to find the time though, as I have to bust through the breakin period before next Saturday when I move across the country. Think I might set the record for quickest breakin time?
Hi Ho Fidelio should hit Panama today. So far I have mostly stayed away from watching as she sails along, but this is the next stop on the fun trip to Port Hueneme. I am using it as a check figure of sorts. I figure if it meets its schedule day to arrive and leave Manzanillo, PA then it should land in California when it says it will.
Wow, I'm setting myself up to be bummed if the VDC holds this up. Anyway, keep the updates and pics coming, makes waiting a lot easier.

You'll beat me and I'll have completed the training mode in 11.5 days when I surpass 1,200 miles tomorrow morning on my way to work!
