Question to all - What is your average gas mileage? I'm driving mine pretty aggressively in city driving and I'm getting around 27 to 28. I'm sure with a conservative road trip I can get in the low 30s.

Haven't calculated it myself yet but my OBC says I'm getting 32.8 MPG in my JCW.

I'm sure that will drop a few MPG after break in is over but I've not exactly been driving like an elderly nun either.

I can't get mine to go below 30-31, no matter what I do.

Awesome, SPA !

I can't believe such a beast of an engine can produce that kind of MPGs !

Funny... over the past 30 years, the appearance of automobiles has not changed that much. But damn, the technology in the power train and other systems has made gains by leaps and bounds.

What mods have you done, Zippy ?

Every day I'm becoming more sure I'm going to add the GP2 rear diffuser. I'm sitting at about 60% sure of it now.

Mine is here. That 33 though was 90% mountains and some interstate. No city.

Me too. Are you going to install it yourself or have the dealer do it? I haven't seen a complete set of instructions yet, but I have seen that getting all of the pieces and brackets lined up perfectly is a little fiddly - which makes me wonder if I can do it on ramps or jack stands in my garage.

I know that Way Motor Works, Detroit Tuned and ECS Tuning all sell the kit. I bought a bunch of stuff for my GTI from ECS, and always got great prices and service from them - but I have no experience with the other two. Does anyone else?

I believe I can tackle that install myself, Spa. I intend to use my jack stands, then install everything without tightening it down. Then adjust everything and then tighten down the bolts. I'm not the most mechanically inclined person but this doesn't seem like that would be a requirement.

The best price I found last week when researching was on Sewell's site. It was less than $300. I believe they have a NAM discount code, too.

Mini S Roadster w/ 16" tires. Still in break-in period.

30.8 mpg in city
388 miles range in city
38.7 mpg highway
And I do vary my revs while the car is breaking-in.

I was 33.5 MPG with my second full tank on my CMS All4, mostly back roads at highways speeds.

Driving to Philly this weekend on the turnpike (after the break-in complete!), so I'll be interested to see how that plays out, MPG-wise.

My impatient wait is nearly over. Got the call yesterday that my MCS is at the dealership and ready to be picked up. I couldn't get it yesterday but I drove over and looked at it after hours. Looks great with the JCW interior package. I plan on picking it up after what is likely to be the longest work day ever today. Thanks for the support. I didn't comment much but I did enjoy lurking and seeing everybody's photos.

I'm in beautiful ole' California but I still have been anxiously tracking my buddy! He's currently on the toronto and will be docking New Jersey tomorrow. Maybe in a week he'll be in upstate NY at the dealer? I don't even understand why I am so excited when I can't even drive my car!

This is correct, if you let off the gas while coasting to a stop in gear. It will pull vacuum drawing oil higher into the cylinder walls

I definitely will. Might be difficult to find the time though, as I have to bust through the breakin period before next Saturday when I move across the country. Think I might set the record for quickest breakin time?

Panama

Hi Ho Fidelio should hit Panama today. So far I have mostly stayed away from watching as she sails along, but this is the next stop on the fun trip to Port Hueneme. I am using it as a check figure of sorts. I figure if it meets its schedule day to arrive and leave Manzanillo, PA then it should land in California when it says it will.

Wow, I'm setting myself up to be bummed if the VDC holds this up. Anyway, keep the updates and pics coming, makes waiting a lot easier.

You'll beat me and I'll have completed the training mode in 11.5 days when I surpass 1,200 miles tomorrow morning on my way to work!

Guess I'm a bit slow... haven't gone over 600 miles yet.

Of course, it's been raining a lot the past week and I won't let it see a drop of rain yet.

Been drivin' in the rain so I'm up to 775 - definitely looking forward that 1200 mark.

Hey, Huck Finn - You don't think your car is really all CR underneath, do you? Maybe the WS is just a whitewash, and it will come off in the rain!

BTW, the GP Rear Diffuser from ECS Tuning delivered to me in the middle of nowhere is $304. Have you seen a better delivered price? (I haven't.)

I just don't want to have to wash it.

With shipping, no... best price I found was $298 without shipping.

Wow, just checked ECS site... $262.68.

Did you install your own, Spa ?
