How long does it usually take to ship from the UK to Houston, anyone care to guess? My MA ignores my emails.
Your MA doesn't sound very good at all.. But I like your MINI I was lucky with my MINI.. It sat at port for 3 days only.. But just remember there are a lot of ships coming and going from there... How long has your MINI been sitting at port?

Hi and thanks Zip! My car's been made for almost a week now...so my guess is probably 5 days in Southampton so far.

My MA is "Mostly Avoiding" me. I guess that since the deal was done, there's nothing to work for anymore. Bad practice...I do believe there is a customer satisfaction survey in the future. Kind of like going to a restaurant and getting really shitty service - until it's time for the bill, and then they're all smiles and thank you, have a wonderful evening, be safe ya yayaya...

I guess an MA is just like a server in a restaurant...no work involved in selling a MINI. Oh, sorry if I offended any servers.

You got a love those MAs.. I jacked mine up a bit.. There will be a survey.. There tone will change then..lol.. But if your MINI has been sitting there for that time frame Im guessing it wont be sitting to much longer.. There are other ships that WW contract too.. It could easily get loaded on one of those..sad thing about that that might be a little trickier to track!! Have you happened to call ask mini? not that there much better.. But you could get lucky..lol On a good note!! Very awesome MINI.. Like the color choices.

Thanks on the colour choices - I would love to have gotten laser blue, but since they don't offer it anymore...I chose the kite blue more or less as a last minute thing. I'm not sure if I'll like it, so a little reassuring doesn't hurt here and there.

We bought our first MCS from the Woodlands. The MA was originally from Hawaii (why on earth he'd moved to Houston I'll never comprehend), and he was awesome. I wanted to buy from him again, but alas he'd moved back to Hawaii (now THAT I comprehend!). We had a great experience while he was there, but when he left I just didn't get the same vibe from the place anymore.

I did find an MA I wanted to buy from at Clear Lake, but the sales manager was a condescending pr*ck toward me. Anyway, that MA didn't make target and they let him go, but the sales manager is still there and I won't buy while he's there.

My current MA used to answer the phone to me but stopped doing so. It's not that I called every 5 minutes - all I wanted was the damn production number...which even when I finally got it, it was not even MINE! And when I figured that out and let her know by email, she replied within a minute to confirm it. Strange how she went from not responding to at all to that. I suspect she knew that all along. I wanted to, and should have, cancelled the order weeks ago. Survey is on its way. I guess the MAs don't know there are surveys, or don't care?

Have you seen it in person before? It's a nice colour but kind of plain looking (like my horizon blue).

The day I went to buy a Mini, I knew I wanted blue. I thought the lightning blue would be the way to go, but it's a little darker than I wanted. I glanced at a kite blue and thought that would be okay...and the more I thought about it, the more I thought it would be a good choice. I did a search and there are a bunch of '13 model kite blue minis for sale, and they look pretty drab. I'm hoping the black roof and stripes jazz it up a bit. But at the end of the day, it's about the drive really...and the inside is supposed to be chili red, so that will be fun I think!

MINI_42 I think you will love the Kite Blue. We were so torn between getting that and Chili Red. In the end, we have never owned a red car and that decided it.

As for your MA, I'm very bummed they held you order up on you. But it will come. They DO know about the survey, and that should be your chance to let them know what knuckleheads they have been. Very interesting color combo with the red interior. Can't wait to see pics. What roof graphic is that you are getting?

Thanks speed, I'm sure I will enjoy the colour. My wife suggested the red interior as this is our fun car. Well...MY fun car! She refuses to drive manual shift. Hmmm...that's a win right there!

The graphic is a helipad (I fly choppers). We had one on our previous MCS; we lived downtown near Houston PD's helipad and occasionally they would circle overhead low level checking the car out. I guess they dug it as much as we did.

Our daughters (age 3 & 4) are funny. Instead of calling people silly, they call them 'Cooper'. As in, "Daddy you're a cooper!" haha. They think it's quite the treat they will be driving around soon in a cooper car!

Funny thing, I've been building a cage in my garage the last two days to house the thing...or rather, to keep our misbehaving cats off it.

Ah a helipad! My daughter and I were trying to figure this out. She is 5 and is the only one in the family more impatient then I am for the MINI to get here. She loves pointing them out on the road. Her favorite thing is to tell me if they have one hole or two in the back (she uses the exhaust to tell which are S's).

My wife refuses to drive a manual as well! This used to be awesome, since it meant the cars were safe. But this time around we had to get an automatic. I can't drive a stick anymore after I hurt my knee, and unfortunately, I have to share this MCS so its an auto.

Really like how different your fun Cooper is going to be. I'm sure your daughters will take over the MINI mood lights to really make you a cooper dad. I'm thinking Purple.

Kids are funny eh? My youngest (3) asks me every day if the cooper car is here yet...when we went to the dealership to make the order, both girls cried and cried on the way home because we weren't driving in a cooper car...

You may be right on the purple...my eldest loves purple!

What's the status on yours? Mine's been waiting for shipping since August 13th.

8 Days at the port. You been checking your VIN on the WW website ? If you're not on a ship already, you sure should be any day now. Mine got on a ship on day 8, most get on a ship within 6-7 days.

Hi there, yes I've been running the VIN on the WW. No luck yet. I don't know how many days it's been at the port...actually it's an assumption that it's at the port! Built on the 13th is all I know, and waiting for transportation now. That's 7 days. :(

It's been 54 days since I made the order.

According to the owners lounge, mine is now en route. It changed status this morning. I ran the VIN on the WW website and got nothing, so maybe it is on K-line. Maybe they are just moving mine to the port in preparation for loading.

I checked both shipper's schedules for boats from Southampton to Brunswick, GA and didn't see any ships until the 24th or so. I think ours will go through Brunswick, but could be wrong.

Hopefully, since yours is also heading to Houston, it will also be on the move soon.

I hope yours rolls onto a boat soon. Our MINI was at the dock from July 25 to loaded on the Fidelio August 2nd. The trip to California is what my daughter tells me is like forevvvvvvvvvveeeeeeeeerrrrrrrr. At least your trip to GA is shorter then the 22 days to Port Heuneme. Although, I think we have it better on that final truck ride. Oxnard to SF is not so bad as GA to Houston. Even being in geographically challenged California I can figure that out.

If you look at your "Vehicle Inquiry Report" with production number on it, it should give you on the top right, "Port Loc". Brunswick is SSIPOA

I looked on the WW line's website and there are 10 ships scheduled from Southampton to Brunswick between now and 29 September, as follows:
August 24, 25.
September 1, 8 (x2), 15, 18, 22, 23 & 29. I took a screen shot but can't figure how to upload it as it's a tif file.

Gotta be one of those days, right?

Forever! haha.

I'm trying not to think about mine too much. I leave for work on Monday and will be overseas for a month.

I think the road to Houston would be easy...3 turns maybe? I think I-10 starts in Florida and a turn off that to highway 59 goes straight to the dealer. I guess I-95 from Georgia? Dunno!

Either those or the K-line boats on 24/30 August or 06/13/20 September. I have no idea why it would take until September to get your car loaded.

I'm not sure which boat mine is on, since the day the status changed on the OL site didn't agree with any of the scheduled dates. It is somewhat frustrating to not know what is really happening, but it seems like the car is moving closer and closer.

For me it's probably working out better that it appears to be delayed - I'm out of the country on Monday for a month, and the sooner the MINI gets here, the longer it will sit at the dealer's, the more kids' grimey mitts will be all over it. Dreadful thought!

I found the K line website confusing and couldn't get any info out it.

Hey MINI 42... I was going to ask you what does the OL give you for your status? Or ask mini?

Hey MINI_42, maybe your MINI is waiting for mine to get finished before they get on the boat haha ... nah I think my port is Baltimore. He's been in the body shop since the 15th. Least yours is complete already.. time is going so slow .... I've been calling that ASK MINI automated line almost everyday just to check if it's changed lol

How do you know it's in the body shop? And since the 15th? Is that through the ask mini phone number? i never got detailed info like that from the OL.

I call almost everyday... Usually just do the automated thing... It asks you to speak into the mic but if you dial them and the moment you hear the automated start talking press 2 then listen for it again and type in your production numb... Listen again and press 1... That's the quickest way for a fast update... But talking to a rep they are the ones who told me that it had been in the body shop since that date but I had already known that since I call and do the automated thing lol
