Fidelio is now sitting pretty in San Diego. Nobody else on this vessel huh? Hopefully our MINI is unscathed and rolls off without a hitch tomorrow. Still can't figure our why it had to stop in San Diego. Now I am guessing it sits all weekend sine I don't believe the VDC works weekends.

Clay I love that color combo. Our choices went Chili Red/Black Kite Blue/Black or Bayswater package and Spice Orange/Black. My daughter and son loved the red best. I'm clearly a push over in my house.

 

I guess the ship mine is on is making good time because the arrival date is now one day earlier.

 

Thanks Speed... I'm glad your so close to taking delivery... Makes me more excited for mine to get here lol... But it's funny because I never thought I would have an orange car. Spice orange wasn't even on my radar when I went into the dealer but once I saw the color in the metal I knew my MINI had to be the spice orange/black combo

 

Wii has made his arrival! My MA sent me this picture as car is ready to be picked up, but due to travel it can not be picked up yet.

 

CONGRATS MiniWii. Not long now huh? When will you be able to take delivery?

 

Car been at the dealer since Thursday, Brother tried to pick it up Friday. Couldn't do it without me because we both are on the loan. My credit history is very short. I won't be home till September 7th to pick it up. Such a bummer

 

Looks like my MINI made it through the VDC. Next up a truck! If things go well I should be able to pick her up Saturday or Sunday. Here is to hopping it is Saturday.

How goes everyone else's wait. So weird to see the 2014 thread when we are still waiting on 2013s. Has to mostly be Hardtops left since that switch to 2014 is not happening till April?

 

Mine just got off the boat in Baltimore.

 

Scooter has been in "Body shop" status for 2 weeks now. Do you guys think he's farther along and they just haven't updated yet? I've been calling ASK-MINI and that's what they've been saying since the 15th.

The website is silly in its ability to be so far behind. The automated phone line is a tiny bit better, and the live people are the best, but still not great.

What blows me away is, your salesperson (MA) has the best info. This bugs me because it means the info is there, then why the heck don't they update the tracking site better! How can the ASK MINI people not have that info! Why do we call it a drive way when we usually park our cars on it? Pressing questions I know.

Short answer is call your MA. I had a chat with mine. Explained how I was crazy, and more info was better for me. Would it be ok if we emailed each other. We had a hug and worked it out and I got updates when I needed the fix. I was nice and left him alone for the 22 day boat ride to California. I hope your MA is nice. If not explain to him or her your passion in life is taking Surveys and Yelp. MINI/BMW is super nuts over their surveys. Sometimes I feel like it makes up 90 of thier pay or something. You mention that survey you MAY get singing telegrams.

And hope your MA remembers who you are and what you bought and cares enough to look anything up. Mine told me my car was at the port in Southampton waiting on a ship.

I purchased a Countryman, and they board in Bremerhaven.

 

Haha. Well luckily I have an MA who emails back and answers the phone so that isn't an issue. I emailed my MA just now and he basically told me the same things the automated/spokesperson from ASK MINI said. Maybe I'm just being paranoid since status hasn't changed in so long.

 

Soooo ... I know I can't be the only one who has a couple boxes full of goodies just waiting to be installed on the MINI.

VIP quad lights in black.
Both front and rear JCW emblems.
Interior LED light kit from ECS also grabbed the license plate light from them.
Plasma Yellow H8 bulbs for fogs.
and the light above the Fog, have the LED for that as well.

Scooter needs to get here faster!!

 

I've got a front license plate holder. Car is in customs and should be at the dealer mid-next week. Very excited to get it in my grubby paws.

I'm truly happy for you guys with new MINIs in the driveway. Mine supposedly goes into production next week, so I'll have to be patient. Have fun motoring this weekend!

Took two pics with the old and the new. They said they though this was the fastest they've ever gotten one, we built it on July 27/8th using an existing slot and it arrived yesterday.

 

Why such a dramatic change in appearance? ........

 

Well you can't option web spokes so I went with the JCW kit instead.
