oh boy.. I've been "scheduled for production" for 5 days now but it shows it on the website, and I ordered my car on the 27th..

Wow, that's tremendous! Which model are you waiting for? One of the ones being built in Great Britain or Germany? I'm wondering if they batch models together for the builds. I'm waiting on a R56 JCW. Could it be there's just not that many coming through? Or do they just want to toy with me - the sadists! Just kidding in case anyone in Oxford is reading!!!

lol i'm waiting on the R56 base. I think we're the final order run, whoever's got one waiting in production. and I was lucky enough to get in on a dealer order that was about to go through, they changed one of their orders for me at the last minute to my order. I think it's getting built in Oxford

You're right - the R56s are winding down. And I'm glad to be one of them. Congrats on getting the dealers slot that was in the works. Definitely cuts down on the wait time. I know my guy had to swap allocations with another dealer to get mine ordered. So although I'm anxious - I'll patiently wait. And while I wait I'll just keep ordering all the accessories that I want. I have a box full already!

Oh, and your correct. Yours is in Oxford. The Paceman and Countryman are being built in Germany. All others are in England.

thanks - i definitely feel lucky about my order. and I always like having the last/greatest iteration of a model run (have an '06 evo ix mr in the stable as well). i'm kind of hoping my order was among the "last" orders placed for r56s

There's definitely a delay on the JCW's production for some reason. Wish I knew what it was, but rest assured that your car will go into production just like mine did.

Well I gave ask MINI a call today - car's at the body shop, scheduled for painting, and estimated completion time of tomorrow! good news that i'll be getting the car hopefully soon-ish, bad news that i don't get the last r56 ever made

on a side note - i've talked to both the dealer and ask mini about this - i'd like to get a part port-installed just for documentation, but both sides are saying it's too late to change the order - is there any way i can call the port directly to get them to throw the part on? It's the JCW strut tower brace. They CAN install it at the port, but the issue is more regarding my order and "changing it" after it's been placed

A STB is something you could do yourself very easily in 5 minutes time. If you don't have a torque wrench, just have the dealer do it is what I suggest. They should do it for free IMO.

it's not for the labor, it's for the documentation of port install. it's not a huge deal, just a more ironclad defense as far as scca stock class rules go (only factory and port installed parts are legal in stock class).

lol just a stupid technicality. since it's port-installable, i can actually do it myself, it's just all the better to have it actually port installed.

Any other JCW Hardtops on order but not built?

My MA confirmed yesterday that my build has been postponed for an additional 12 days or so (just to be pulled for production) with an anticipated completion by the first week in November (which means I may see it around Thanksgiving). He thinks it's because of the limited production of JCWs. I was wondering if there are any other R56 JCWs which are in the same boat as me. Curious if they batch by model types and if they just don't have enough orders remaining of the JCWs for 2013 to do a run of this type of vehicle in a shorter timeframe.

Sorry to hear about all the delays.

However, I just got notified I will be able to pick up my JCW HT on Thursday at 1pm! Whooohooo! Definitely not going back to work after that, I got some break in miles to get working on!

Great news Daphnee! Curious how long was your wait from order to delivery?

We ordered on 20 Aug. I can't say that I know when the born dates and etc. were because we ordered through MINI Military Sales and none of that stuff is loaded into the OL. We were told by our MA that it would be produced in week 39 and expected delivery week was week 41 (this week). Everything was on schedule, in fact maybe even a little ahead of schedule. The longest part is having to wait for the German customs to verify that we as US Military members don't have to pay the tax on the car. Everything went exactly as scheduled. It seems strange that JCW buyers are getting behind schedule. I hope the schedules work themselves out soon!

I can understand the frustration linak. So far, the hardest part of waiting, for me, has been waiting for production to start. The wait for my JCW wouldn't be as bad if I didn't have to keep my MCS in the garage to keep the mileage from adding up until trade-in, and I were still able to drive it to work everyday. Since I made my order, I've already added 3k miles on the wife's car lol. It's an SUV and nothing like a MINI. Every morning, I have to walk pass my MCS before getting into the SUV. Hmm..I think I'm going to sit in my MCS in the garage and see if that helps any with this waiting business. lol

I've got a happy face on!

My MA is a miracle worker. We chatted yesterday and he agreed that the push back on my build was not acceptable. He made a few phone calls and told me the production staff would be shifting things around. He just sent me an email with my VIN# and production start date/time - which was this morning at 8:53 AM! I am doing cart wheels all around the house (slight exaggeration - at my age, the body just doesn't move that way anymore). We are finally rolling - this is a good day!

I'm hoping it's just overtime so everyone wins.

That's wonderful news - may you sail across the pond swiftly.

KilmerPT - have you made it onto a ship? What's your ETA? And Lastly, how was your evening in the garage? Visualizing you in your soon to be traded MINI did make me smile when I was really down in the dumps - thanks.

Nope, I'm still waiting for a ship at the docks. If I get into a WW vessel, there's either one leaving tomorrow for Port Hueneme and arriving 10/30/13 at the VDC or one on 10/22/13 arriving 11/13/13 at the VDC. Sitting in the car was definitely therapeutic. Thinking of getting an air freshener with the "new car" scent might make it more effective. lol Sent from my iPhone using NAMotoring

Baltimore, what about you? How long has yours been waiting at the docks? My dealer said, for me at least, a week to come overseas, and a week for transport. But docks is the bigger question...

Been at docks since 5th. Can you see my sig? :curious: WW website estimates 20-22 days to get to California.

aha, my bad - wasn't paying attention to that.

i was hoping i'd get mine early november but now i'm not so sure.. didn't realize the cars could sit at the docks for a while

I assume you've been using this thread - https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...d-updated.html ?

Looks like my Mini should be on the WW. Next ships leave on the 11th, 13th, and 14th - hopefully the Mini catches one of those.

::

Looked into it for you - looks like there hasn't been a ship that's left for CA since your car's been at the dock - one leaves tomorrow with ETA on 10/30, but who knows how the queue system works for these cars, if there's a line or what
