aye.

how long did it take for your car to go from being done at the facility to transported to the dock?

my mini's "released to carrier, awaiting transport to port of exit" now - there's a ship that leaves on the 11th and one that leaves on the 13th, but the one on the 13th actually arrives 2 days earlier (20th) - i hope i get that one. I could conceivably get my mini in literally less than a month from order to in my hands

You crack me up It took 1 day to get to port. Are you getting anything done to your car either at the port of entry or dealer prior to delivery? I'm getting a clear bra installed at dealer and interested in the LED fog light DRLs but not sure if I should just have dealer install or DIY. Sent from my iPhone using NAMotoring

nah. i wanted the jcw strut tower brace to be port installed for SCCA ruling, but I was a little late on that one. It's okay though, since as long as it's "port-installable," it's legal in stock class.

Tell me you didn't cough up 1-1.2k for the "eco" something clear bra something something.. you can get a LEGIT clear bra job done for half that much - i.e. XPEL Ultimate which has ten year warranty on parts AND labor for any issues period. no idea about the LED lamps. I leave electrical things to anyone but me

That's wonderful news - may you sail across the pond swiftly.

KilmerPT - have you made it onto a ship? What's your ETA? And Lastly, how was your evening in the garage? Visualizing you in your soon to be traded MINI did make me smile when I was really down in the dumps - thanks.
i think they are in 24hr production - maybe they were holding back the final final run of jcw hardtops for a little special somethin somethin!

My MA got an initial quote for clear bra partially up the hood, bumper, and mirror caps for $600, and MA said they will also get a quote from another place that might do a full hood. Haven't heard anything about that other place and it's been several weeks now. No idea is that price is fair or high, tbh. I'm open to suggestions though. Do you know if tint shops would do clear bras as well?

that might be a liiiittle high but not awful. depends on what film they're using. you should shop around, honestly prob the best thing to do is yelp and find a place - most tint shops do clear bras and vice versa. Your dealership is probably using a local clear bra shop TBH - the place I go to does the clear bra for the BMW dealership here lol

i take it by your name you are also a jcw.. i guess it's not as simple as getting transported to the port and then on the ship right away. i wonder if there's like a giant queue of cars waiting at the port until the next ship comes... i hope i catch the ship on the 13th at least..

I wonder if us 2013s at the port get 1st dibs on a ship over the 2014s, just an idea that crossed my mind.

Hey everyone. I ordered my JCW hardtop early Sept, and just got confirmation today that It will start the build on Nov 11th.
Originally they told me it would be an October build and then it got pushed to November. I really hope to have it before Xmas.

2013 JCW - WhiteSilver with Red roof and mirrors. Black Stripes.
Black Wheels - Comfort access - Premium Package - Harmon Kardon. Leatherette - Black Headlights - Chili Red interior trim. SIRIUS

This will be my second MINI. First was a 2005 Cooper S.
I drive a 2004 VW R32 now. Very excited to get this car!

that's terrible see above - looks like linak contacted his MA to get things sorted out. I really think they're doing something special for these last run JCWs though

kyoo was right - you should contact your MA and see what he or she can do. I was originally scheduled for production week 40 (started 9/30) and for an unknown reason got bumped and was told they would have it done by the first week of November. There were no red flags, everything was fine per ASK MINI. I don't know the golden words my MA used but they just started my production and we're now at the end of week 41. So it certainly can't hurt to make a call. Good luck getting everything straightened out.

BTW kyoo - I'm a girl . . . with a good taste in cars!

My guess for the delay is that they are already underway of building the F56s, and they have to meet a deadline before the Nov 18 reveal, so our R56s are getting bumped back due to parts lacking.

idk about that, i think regular hardtops (like mine) and s's have been going through as normal. it's the special turbos and secret sauce they're saving for the final jcws!!

if anything they may just be trying to push out all the base and s orders out for their final run since that's what most people will buy off the lot

Production Number

Does anyone know how long before receiving a production number? I ordered a 2013 JCW hardtop on Sept. 25 and have not received a production number yet. The dealer does not have an answer and ASK-MINI was of no help. I was originally told I would have the car by the end of October or first week of November by the MA.

Thanks

i believe your ma should have given that to you - though there is something suspicious going on with these jcw hardtops!!

I just checked WW and I'm scheduled for a ship too - arrives in Baltimore on 10/22 (slower than a later ship that's coming)
