Does anyone know how long before receiving a production number? I ordered a 2013 JCW hardtop on Sept. 25 and have not received a production number yet. The dealer does not have an answer and ASK-MINI was of no help. I was originally told I would have the car by the end of October or first week of November by the MA.
Thanks
I received my production number the day I ordered my '14 Roadster S. The dealer used a previously allocated dealer slot for my order, so that might explain why I received one so soon. If I were you, I would check with the MA or his/her Sales Manager.

I have contacted both the MA and the New Vehicle Sales Manager and they said I would hear from Mini before they (the MA) would know. ASK-MINI said the MA should know. So at this point in time I don't know who to go to. My previous experience buying a Mini went a lot better then this time as I got the Production number when I ordered the car (2006 JCW).

Reason: spelling
The number of folks waiting for builds and/or transport are dwindling. Such a nice thing to see. Congratulations to all!
And on another positive note - I just sold my Tahoe today in anticipation of getting Alfie. Goodbye big SUV . . . hello (continued wait for) small sporty car. Another good day in the life of an almost miniac.

Hey Dave,
Could you post a pic of the driving lights on at night? Curious just how bright they are. lol
Heard my Mini boarded on 10/11.. no word after that, no update in Mini Lounge that it's "en route" or anything though..
That's great news! Can you MA tell you which ship it's on? (I guess we can all forget the OL which is never up to date) That way you can start the next phase of our obsessions - tracking over water.
I'm still hanging in production mode (stated 10/9). As of yesterday it hadn't hit the paint shop yet. They're trying for the 17th for completion - we'll see. I probably won't see mine until mid-November . . . just in time for the F56 unveiling!

Since you know the ship you can check the estimated arrival date at your port from the site you just linked - just navigate through the customer area and track via ports/ship name, etc. And you can go to marinetraffic.com and follow it's route most of the way across the pond. I've read somewhere that you can also track it via Google Earth. Haven't looked into that yet. Have fun with it!

as far as i can tell, it's for a different cargo company. Just wish I knew where the ship was, I *think* it's left the port but who knows..
Now I know I'm not the last one left in the "2013" waiting list. So what's going on with everyone's cars?
I just checked the Wallenius site and, I'm happy to say, I was loaded onto the Turandot which sailed from Southampton today and arrives in NY on the 29th!
My JCW is still on the Tortugas, 10 days out of Southhampton. It still has 10 more days to reach Port Hueneme in California. I don't know exactly where it is right now as it is out of range according to marinetraffic.
Congrats Kyoo! How far are you and your dealer from the docks? If I read your build thread right, you're only having the stripes put on at the VDC? Hopefully everything will go smoothly and quickly so you can have your MINI in record time.

according to the dealer it's about a week. so i signed the papers on 9/27, and will potentially receive on the 10/29
KilmerPT - I've read where others have tracked their progress through the Panama Canal. Any idea of how long it takes to get to that position? That's got to be some sight to see. I just went to marinetraffic for the first time. I'm liking it! I guess now I'll become obsessed with weather reports in the Atlantic. I hope yours has an uneventful trip for the balance of its journey and gets to you safe and sound.
Well my jcw hardtop should be at the port in NJ has of yesterday the dealer here in NY told me that they should have the car on Friday the 25, I am hoping so

Thanks for the support linak! I'll have to do some research on how long that takes to get to the canal. It would be cool to get a screen shot of it indeed. There's also an app for marinetraffic for the iphone but have not been able to get it to work yet cuz I need to set it up still.. All I know is that my JCW is halfway to destination by now lol. Been keeping myself occupied with deciding what parts to put a clear bra on lately. I thought last night I knew exactly which ones I wanted, and then today I was just thinking maybe I should just get a full hood and front bumper, as that is where the most of the paint chips are on my MCS, to keep cost down. Ah, but tomorrow I may change my mind once again..lol
