This is also important at the port. Cars that are Priority 1 - Sold get processed and delivered to dealers first, before all others. So if you aren't marked correctly you'd be facing further delays when your baby makes it to the States.
We put cash deposit $1000 at dealer to get Mini orderd and put into production. I would think that this puts us at a higher priority than the ones that are being produced to send to the dealers to sit in their inventory.

Well I put the same deposit down when I ordered my Mini. But that doesn't automatically set the priority in the ordering system. Maybe by default on NEW orders, the priority is automatically set to 1, but in my case, the dealer thought he was doing me a favor and used one of his stock order slots for my order. The problem was, his original order had a priority 3, meaning stock order. He forgot to change that to 1 when he updated it to use my Clubman specifications.
OK - excuse me if I sound a bit dense on this topic, but how do you know the ship's schedule in advance?
Most of the MINIs come on a Wallenius Wilhelmsen cargo ship so if you go to their website at http://www.2wglobal.com/www/wep// you can view Vessel Schedules. Choose the Search by Ports option on the right, put in Southampton and where your boat will come ashore and you will see the schedules.
I tracked my last MINI this way and was surprised when it came in to the dealer before the boat docked, turned out mine went on a K-Line boat so I had been tracking the wrong ship. Your MA will have the boat info once it is on there and can tell you for sure, and then there are various marine tracking websites that you can use to watch your MINI get here. It is fun to watch the Panama canal cams and "see" your MINI go through the canal
Read the sticky about tracking your MINI order at the top of the page for a lot more detail on this.
I finally was able to sign on to the Owner's Lounge. And I got some info from ASK MINI - in production and an estimated completion date of September 13 - woot!
I know it will still take some time (the dealer told me to expect it to take the full 12 weeks) but I'm glad to finally see some kind of progress.
I just hope there's a couple of sunny days before I have to put the top up for our soggy PNW winter that lasts til sometime in July.
Whoohoo! Mini robot said I'm in production with scheduled completion of 09/13. I ordered on 08/25.
I am truly happy for you just doesn't seem fair that I ordered aug 1st and now have same estimated completion date
Actually my Ma told me the 10th on Monday, mini robot said the 12th on Wednesday and the today it says the 13th

I know what you mean. I think a lot of people ordered before the shut down or during it and had to wait until they were up and running. My MA said I timed my order just right. Looks that way so far but i'm not holding my breath until I actually pick her up.
Glad your is being built and will be on it's way soon!

Thanks for understanding it was nothing against you I am just over the waiting already
Here's my latest executive decision: I've "decided" that mine will be on the Tonsberg. If completion is the 12th, it should be no problem making it onto the next Baltimore-bound boat, which leaves on the 18th. Wagers, anyone?
Also ordered Aug 25th, MA said in production with completion also 9/13. Based on their estimate, there is a possibility of delivery before Oct. While this will be my third, I'm currently not driving and Mini, so looking forward.

You don't think it will make the boat on the 16th?
That is correct, seeing as that one doesn't come to Baltimore.
You are correct. I was looking at the date it left Germany, not when it arrived in Southhampton.

"I may not always be right, but I'm never wrong."
I don't understand that code at the end, but as long as I'm right, no need to clarify.
I'm joking.
Almost entirely.

As for Bremerhaven...I don't think our cars have anything to do with any other country but England. Closest we get is that the Countryman is made in Austria (those buggers get to have "real" white and not pepper white...grrr)
Pardon me if any of my information is wrong; I'm brand new here and just follow along with the "how to" parts of the site.
