They will have a bit of a wait till 9/27 when the ship embarks on it's trip. How do we get car covers placed on our cars for the wait?

Just called Ask-MINI and my baby is in assembly to complete today. From what I'm reading the hardest part is waiting for loading and transport on the boat.

My family lives in Southampton, I'm going to have my Dad go over to the docks every day and give mine a wipe with a chamois cloth

Let's say for a second that I'm your dad: I'm hanging up the phone on you, when you ask that.

OK so let me see if I'm doing this right...

My car has arrived at the port in Southhampton for shipping to NYCPOA (New York Port). As of today (9-14) - assuming it doesn't miss the next ship for some reason - it should be on the Toronto (W&W) which departs 9-16 and arrives NYC 9-26 - right? I don't think it will travel the KLine - the pdf link for the schedule makes no mention of New York/Newark, but then again their pdf is confusing and presumes you know what names like "Euphrates Highway" mean.

I just got word from my MA that my car is on the Athens Highway--a K line ship headed to Baltimore then Brunswick. It was awesome news. My S Coupe was completed on the 7th. It missed the WW ship on the 10th, but made it on in time for an early October delivery if all goes well.

From what people say all the boats to NYC are on the WW line, so I don't think the K-Line boats stop there. In my case mine (a Countryman out of Bremeraven) ended up on the Tombarra which is currently in the mid-Atlantic somewhere. You can seemingly only track boats when they're near land.

Thanks - that answers two questions for me - I was trying to track the Tombarra. My car is not on it since it left port on Sep 10 but I wanted to see what info I could get (so far nothing except it's departure info and expected arrival).

You can track the boats on marinetraffic.com - the catch is that since they only show up near land there wouldn't be much to see after it leaves the UK. It'll just be out at the ocean for about a week and then show up in Canada a few days before NYC.

For people with CMs there's a little more to see as the boats make a few stops. By the time it gets to me my CM will have been to Austria, Germany, Sweden, Belgium, UK, Canada and the USA. That's a well travelled car!

Hopefully mine is on the same boat. My S was finished on the 7th like yours and it barely missed the WW Fedora. It's a bummer that KLine does not allow you to track cargo by VIN the way WW does (at least I don't think they do). I'd ask my dealer for a status update, but I think I've officially annoyed him at this point! No change in status yet on the OL or 866-ASK-MINI, not that I would really expect those to be updated yet.

My MA probably hates me by now. My status on ASK-MINI changed to on ship or the equivalent almost immediately. I hope your car made the boat! I'd ask your MA even if he's annoyed. He's getting commissioned on your sale so may as well make him work for it. I walked into the dealership with what I wanted to order. I ordered it and didn't fight about price. The least they can do is tell me where my car is.

Sweet... How long did it take once it was born to board the boat. Mine was born yesterday... I'm sooo anxious and excited.

The final quality check was on 9/6/12, it was moved to Southampton on 9/8/12, and then left port on 09/14/12. Hopefully yours will leave port in 6 days or less!

If the port of entry is Brunswick, GA won't it be serviced by WW?

At port awaiting shipping vessel.

Four boats leave this week (Tonsberg and Courage both moved to Tuesday now). Note: the depart/arrive schedule for our WW ships changes often--like every day sometimes.
