My MINI was finally changed from On Order to Scheduled for Production!!! I called to get my estimated completion time, and the automated message said July 16th... this cannot be right - does completion simply mean the date the car will be made? I'm trying to find out the estimated time I will be able to pick up my car at the dealership...
Do I actually need to speak to someone for that info, or is it not always available at this early stage? My MA said he'd be in touch about the time frame this week but just wondering if I can get this without bothering him again
Thanks again for all of your helpful wisdom everyone!!

Unfortunately being on the west coast you have quite the wait after the completion date. It still needs to make it to Southamption (2-3 day after "birth") Then wait for the next ship for the 3 week journey to CA. There is some processing time at the Vehicle Distribution Center (VDC) before shipping up to the dealer. You are looking at about a month after production before you take possession. Don't worry though, the link above will give you plenty of instructions on how to track/stalk your Mini along the way.
Have a good time - it is maddening and fun at the same time.

Is this on a 2012 or a 2013? I didn't think any 2013s had even completed their build yet, let alone being tested?

Hmmm, I think mine was only a day or so for the quality check

I'm sorry, that does sound a little odd. Though given how delayed some of the information has been from them, it could also mean that the last update was they were running QC checks and they just haven't posted anything new.
While it could be something to be concerned about, it also could be very minor. These are drive on/off ships, so if something as simple as a spark plug was off it would probably be caught and flagged. If it was caught at the dock and not the factory that would add more delay. (ie car finished on Wed, problem noticed at dock on Friday, need mini to come on Monday to resolve).
Good news is that the boat hasn't left yet, so maybe there is still a shot you can make it.

You go to mini.com/owners lounge. Then you create an account. After that you can start tracking your mini's progress. First thing to do is check that your mini has all the specs you wanted. Because once it starts to be built you can't make changes.

Week 30 Production
Soon to be a new MINI owner for a third time! I just ordered today and have a week 30 production date...so the waiting begins, again. After having an '06 and '08 Dark Silver, this one is all Pepper White. MCSa Pepper White/Pepper White, Carbon Black Color Line, HK, MINI Connected, Pepper White Interior Surface.
I should be used to the waiting but it's like waiting for Christmas as a kid. Congrats to all those getting their cars soon, and to all those waiting like me, we will make the wait fun.
