I should be used to the waiting but it's like waiting for Christmas as a kid. Congrats to all those getting their cars soon, and to all those waiting like me, we will make the wait fun.
Congrats and good luck with the wait

This is my second MC but my first new one and it is pretty exciting! The guilt of taking on a new car payment creeps in occasionally though

Solid14th, I certainly understand about the car payments. My husband and I haven't any one in years, and now we have. My "Justa" coming inflated this month, and he picks up a pre-owner Saab 9.3 convertible tomorrow evening. It thin we both just thought that it's time for some fun... And we didn't exactly go crazy with accessories or anything. But, as you mentioned, the twinges of guilt have a way of creeping in. I am hoping that I've we are in the drivers seats...we'll get over it! Good luck!

Solid14th and AmazingGrayce. The payments will all be forgotten once you are in the drivers seat! Congrats on your purchases and we can keep each other entertained while we wait!

How am I supposed to survive the entire journey if it's been one week since I ordered mine and I'm already checking the OL at least half a dozen times a day?

I'm pretty sure my wife is going to suffocate me in my sleep from apparently sleep talking about my MINI. I don't think I'll even be alive to drive it when it arrives! LOL

It is a rough wait! I understand your pain, my wife has said if I talk too much about my MINI she will Duct Tape my mouth shut!

The wait will all be worth it when you are in the drivers seat! You'll get used to checking the OL and will come to know your VIN number by heart when you start tracking it on the boat.

Congrats and welcome to the mayhem!

I think the wait is not that bad at the moment knowing the car is sitting on a boat somewhere in the Atlantic and it will hit NY in another 8 days. But what happens when it arrives and there is no timeline for the car to get to the dealer. That will really drive me crazy

Yes the Turandot has not shown a position for a day and a half. I guess when it's out at sea we can't track it?.

There is a way to track a ship on the open sea as opposed to the coast but to get the information on cargo ships cost quite a bit of money to get the access. I figured I would start looking in 6 days or so and see when it arrives in Halifax

My car is still in a Released to Carrier status. No info from the WW tracking site related to my VIN, yet.

I am going to need a LOT of popcorn.

My MA said once it lands in NY it takes one to two weeks to get to them here in Philly I might get the JCW suspension put on, but was worried about the extra time at the dealer. My MA said they don't get the paperwork for the cars right away (another day or so after the car arrives).

My first mini took 5 days to make it to Massachusetts from the boat (6 years ago) and 3 days after the paperwork arrived... Wonder if the timing will be different this time around

Hi everybody,

I have a concern that my MA has not been able to clarify or she doesn't want to do so. When I went to dealership (June 09) and configured my MINI "Black Mamba", I added bluetooth option for $500. I was told it was a 2012 hardtop with baker street package by the MA and she gave the vin #. When I registered on the OL, it says that my MINI is a 2013. For what I've read on this thread and on other sites bluetooth is a standard feature. i just want to verify if indeed my MINI is a 2013 model, can I trust the OL info or should I take my MA's word for granted????

I greatly appreciate your advice

If you have the vin you can determine the year. I think 2013 is represented by the letter D. Do a google search for the vin decoder ring, I think wikki has a breakdown. I was told the 2013 production started in June, but I don't know when.

Thanks for the reply solid14th,

believe it or not I did a check on a vin # decoder over google and it came up as a 2012 model; however, my insurance company quoted me yesterday and she used their vin # decoder and it came up as a 2013 model

I'm an addict

Hi let me just say I am an addict. I have been in the OL non stop since I ordered my girl. I actually clicked on every link downloaded all the iPhone apps tinkered around with anything and everything trying to keep my sanity.

she was born on 7/9 going to be coming to Texas. I read that it can sit for weeks until it gets on a boat and it sets sail for home. I was thinking it would be less but after talking to my MA it is going to be far longer than I was hoping for.

I now feel y'alls pain and want to know if anyone has a baby born on 7/9 mine is a 13 roadie s - looking at other's baby pictures is awesome and living vicariously through everyone is cool... Did I mention I am new here? Greetings from TX...

Somewhere in the past few hours my status moved to in production and I've got my VIN! Should I be worried that my baby might be born on Friday the 13th? :O

The only thing that kept me going was the support group! They were the best! Still, it takes forever and it's miserable. I waited 3 months from order date to deliver date!

We are only courting

I feel like I have ordered a mail order bride. I don't know much about her but she is sure pretty. I haven't named her yet I am a bit old fashioned and I want to meet her before I name her. I have a few names in mind But nothing set.

My wife says I have gone off the deep end and she has banned me from the OL till next week. What she doesn't know is I have mini on speed dial and the production # as the name so I have it with me at all times.

You might be in luck. The Talisman is at the mini loading area right now and heading for Galveston at some point today. Keep checking your VIN with the shipping company (link provided earlier in the thread), you might get lucky.

I'm currently trying to find my Caterham. I've been told its being loaded today and delivered to Houston on 7/29, the same schedule as the Talisman...we might be on the same boat.

Midlyf, Wow -do I understand you! I wrote on another part of the site that we just got my husband his first convertible, and he is happy...but he just doesn't enjoy cars the way that I do. So, I am trying not to talk about my Mini too much or he's going to go crazy. That's why being here, with all of you is so great! You understand my joy, anticipate and excitement!!! I simply cannot wait to drive her.... (though I feel a little sick when my husband and my two sons all say they "can't wait to learn how to drive standard" on my new baby! Blech!!! How do I tell them to learn on some old clunker and leave my brand new Mini alone??)

Anyway, this site has kept me from competely making everyone else mad. Thanks to all of you.... And we're in this ride together!!!
Kindest regards,
~Pam

Hey all. My MA just told me my car went into production today! Since he will be born of Friday the 13th I was toying with the idea of calling him Voorhees (All you horror fans will get the reference). Anybody have any thought on the name?

Now the real excitement starts, and he can't get here soon enough.
