I'm just getting antsy. Today marked 2 weeks my baby was born and still waiting for a ship. My MA tried tracking it down and didn't come up with anything new.

I don't know if its just me or what but this has got to be the worst part of the entire MINI building process. The waiting in a parking lot day after day almost feels like waiting for a ship that will never arrive. This is a failure on the part of MINI. The failure not necessarily being the actual shipping/scheduling and doing what they can do to get these cars across Atlantic; but the failure is the lack of information they provide to a customer who is paying $20,000-$35,000 for a product. They have got to have an estimated time of pickup. How do I even know my MINI has even been accounted for at the port? It seems I've seen some people on here that have had a vehicle produced only to have theirs bumped off a ship and another (built after theirs) take its place. I realize i'm ranting about something I don't know much about. But what I do know is that I have enjoyed the MINI process up to this point. And now I'm seriously considering ever repeating this process...the lack of information post Oxford is RIDICULOUS!
P.S. I also know my vehicle only arrived at the Port on 9/21 and I am by no means suggesting mine should be placed in front of line of those who have been waiting MUCH longer than I have.

My MA was very clear that they would not provide date of delivery. He wouldn't even promise it would be here by Christmas. I don't see the process as a failure by Mini. How many cars in this price range can you customize to the degree Mini offers? If anything Mini allows you to track your car too closely creating anxiety in some people. At this point the car isn't really even ours, we've just put a good faith deposit on it. That being said my car was born on the 21st and the first ship to the west coast left today. Once mine is on board it has a 21 day journey to California. I can't wait!

Agree completely. While I've found it entertaining to follow my MINI's journey through the system, in some ways I miss the good old days when it was "it gets here when it gets here". Having the information available on an ongoing basis is almost as frustrating as it is entertaining.

The two lists look consistent to me. They don't cover the same time span. The first list shows all ships from the departing Southampton from the end of September through 11 November that go to Brunswick GA. The second list only covers the end of September through the 11 October. The other ships on list two don't go to Brunswick GA so they are not listed in the first list. Remember the first list are only ships going to GA.

For me what is most annoying is how inconsistent and delayed the tracking information is. The Owner's Lounge and ASK-MINI are often quite different. Often off by days. The status from may MA is often different than both of those. Given modern database, transaction processing and web sites there is no reason why everything in reasonable sync.

I think the problem MINI has with the tracking is the opposite. I think they give too much information so that when we have this gap with the boat we feel abandoned. If they just took our order and said we'll be in touch in 10 weeks, less if you are lucky we wouldn't mind at all.
And really very few people get bumped off a boat like I did, seems like most people here post-shutdown got on a boat within a few days.

Mine was at the port the next day, has been sitting waiting for a boat now for 14 days, 15 tomorrow if/when it gets on the Fidelio.

Big surprise today! After 9 days "In Transit" on K-Line (I assumed since I could get no details), last night the robot switched to "At the port awaiting shipping. I thought something went wrong so I was going to call my MA on my lunch break today. Things got hectic and I had to skip lunch, but when I got back to my office I had a voicemail and 2 emails from my MA...guess what arrived at Lauderdale MINI at noon today!
Can't wait to enjoy my weekend!

That said, it is pretty darn puzzling why OL and ASK-MINI can't keep their stories straight.

Add to all this is that we are going on a road trip to Oregon to be there for my 50th birthday. I should hear next week on a job in Oregon which would mean the road trip would turn into a move. I am pretty frazzled at this point. Too much going on and I am taking all my frustrations out on my lack of MINI information. Thanks all for putting up with me.

My Production Time Line So Far
Ordered our 2013 Cooper S Bayswater July 23, 2012. Got VIN, Production Order Number a few days later. We got stuck in the plant holiday in August and production was not completed until September 4th. By Sept 7th it was at port awaiting a shipping vessel. Got on K-Line's Athens Highway on Sept 14th. We were offloaded in Brunswick, GA on Sept 26th. If you know what to look for, the shipping schedules aren't that hard to figure out. www.shipfinder.co will show the last reported position of vessel, next port & ETA. Go to "map options" then "search" upper right corner of map, If vessel is at sea and not near land, most tracking sites give same info. The Athens Highway stopped at Baltimore, then Brunswick, then Charleston. ASK MINI has gone back to "at port awaiting a shipping vessel", OL updated Sept 28th to "At Distribution Center". Confirmed with MA that it is in US, he said it will take about a week for processing and delivery to dealership in Baton Rouge, LA. He also said I'm 1 of 5 MINIs they orderd that will arrive at same time as mine.
