My MINI is due to arrive in NJ tomorrow!!! For the last two weeks, I have felt like a four year old on Christmas eve... except every morning I wake up, and it's still Christmas eve... It's a terrible nightmare. My MA said it should take seven days at the most to get to Hartford CT. I'm waiting until after the event so I can redeem my $750, but because of school, I think the 26th is the only day I can make it to the dealer that week :( I have heard horror stories about people leaving their MINIs on the lot waiting for pick up and having them being used as test drive vehicles. I don't want that to happen :(

Where are you located? My drive is just over 6 1/2 hours. Do you have any dealer added options that have to be installed once it makes it to the dealer?

Seriously though, happy to see you get yours, we've had quite the "fun" wait!

Hey uk, I still find that weird that your car didn't make the same ship.
All will be good very soon!

I have heard (in this thread) that sold cars have been used for test drives...and I guess until you complete the purchase it isn't actually yours. However, I should think this practice is rare...afterall it is pretty much a sold car...if anything happened to it or it got dirty it would mean more work for the dealership.

I think it will actually be less than 7 days. Mine arrived on Friday in NJ and I suspect it's in CT already but my MA is off today. FYI, I'm using the Stamford Mini dealership although Hartford is closer to me....but Stamford is closer to where I work.

I think this topic of pre-sold cars being possibly used for demos has been blown way out of proportion. I think it is probably very rare and if I came across a dealership that did that I would run away from them and blog about it.
I believe my dealership has a strict no-touch policy when it comes to pre-sold customer cars. I remember when I was first shopping for my MINI I asked my MA if I could see one with the MINI-Connect/Nav system. All the vehicles had none except for a brand new light blue hardtop that just came in. My MA would not even let me sit in the car because it was for a customer. That is the treatment I would expect from a company that respects the customer.

Definitely not. My MA said I was on the California Highway which has dropped all due cars in Brunswick. OL is saying enroute, so just waiting to see how long it takes to update.

That is a very normal delivery time. The car will not go straight from the port to your dealer, it has to be cleared through customs, and pass by a VDC (Vehicle Distribution Center) for final inspection and other things. VDC is where they repair any unfortunate damage that might occur if it got damaged during transit. Mine was also on the California Highway, and I have an ETA of Oct 15th to Miami.

My MA confirmed my vehicle is offloaded from the California Highway and at the Brunswick VDC. He said it should be about take about a week to get the car to Miami. However, what made me most happy was my MA's confirmation that if I go to the Not Normal Sales event, I CAN use the certificate to get another $750 off the sticker. I just have to show up and not take delivery of the car before then. Yay!! :-)

I think after reaching the destination port, the OL and ASK-MINI are useless. They are always delayed by an unreliable amount of time, and since things change quickly now I wouldn't be surprised if it reached your dealer and OL says still at the port. The status reverting back to "at port awaiting vessel" is just their way of saying it reached the Brunswick port. Stick to your MA for real updates if you can.
