Have you used the MINI configurator at miniusa.com? I'm not sure if it's configurating a 2013, but the bench seat is a $250 option, and the flat load floor is included at no additional cost.

Yes, the K-Line only updates it's location when it gets close to land. Unless it's like the California Highway that mine was on, updates were delayed. It was very frustrating.

Probably has to do with the ship turning off their AIS beacon, which is standard practice by shipping companies when they are out on the ocean by themselves. With all the piracy around the world, most ships don't want to broadcast their location unless they're in a congested area (around a port or coast with a heavy SLOC).
If (or when) the LRIT system ever comes on line, then folks will be able to see them real time, due to the satellite query/response architecture for that system (which is also can be encrypted). As I understand it, the system keeps getting pushed out to the right due to the cost of the transponders and additional requirements upon boats of 60 foot(?) length or longer now being required to have the transponders as well.
Remember, AIS is voluntary, not required.
Now, back to our regularly scheduled programming...

And with Global temperatures holding steady over the last 16 years, if we see a temperature decline there will only be more pirate activity:

Confusion
This has been an interesting experience so far. My car went into production on 10/11. My estimated production complete was 10/19 then changed to 10/22. I provided Ask Mini my contact info on 10/15. I called Ask Mini today. They had lost my information. I rebuilt it. They had no estimate of production complete time. I called back to the automated system and they had the car in transit. I called a human back and they had it in production. Looks like they need some work on the I.T. part of the company.

So jealous of everyone waiting for their Minis!
I'm in the middle of negotiations with a handful of dealers, but they all seem to be giving me contradictory info on the 2013 countryman S
Dealer 1: they told me if i order a countryman now it would have to be a 2012 because 2013 wont be in production until February '13, but all other dealers i've talked to are ready to place my order for 2013. what does this mean?? They were also the dealer that's given me the best offer off the bat w/o me asking or telling them what I wanted yet ($1500 off msrp) could this be a reason for telling me 2013 aren't in production because they assumed I'd be ordering a 2012?
Dealer 2: offered me $1150 off MSRP for a 2013 model, but she insists that the flat load floor is a $250 requirement for the now standard bench seats. Can anyone confirm if this is true or not? It seems rather ridiculous to me that they'd attach a monetary item requirement to a standard option.
The other dealers i've talked to with lower discounts have the flat load bad listed as "included" but I'm not sure who's right because specs and prices aren't publicly listed anywhere yet.

Regarding the Flat Load Floor thing...that came up in our discussions. I told them I wanted the standard bench seat but not the Flat Load Floor. When they removed the Flat Load Floor from the configuration, the system defaulted it to a two bucket back seat option....very strange. They emailed MINI to get more details, but no response yet. So, in order to get the build done and sent in, we went ahead and left the Flat Load Floor option at $250, however the dealer will deduct the $250 and remove it at time of delivery if it turns out that you have to "pay" for a silly option to keep the "standard" seating...very strange.

I could at least track the vessel's ETA at Port Hueneme (it came in a day earlier than originally scheduled) and got location updates through the Panama Canal and periodically along Baja California. Since the Antares Leader came in last Tuesday, I've gotten nothing. OL says it's still on a boat and ASK-MINI can't give me anything more than it made it to the POE. My MA is supposed to give me an update today (he was off yesterday) but the past week has been tried my patience.

For me, it didn't get any less frustrating after the car made landfall.

I have talked to four local dealerships...they all said they generally could not order a 2013 Countryman until sometime next month...however..two of those dealerships had a single "build" spot that could be used to place an order on a 2013 right now.

Does this mean you already paid for the flat load floor and will be having it returned?
Please keep me updated. these last little details is all that's left between me and my car! *fingers crossed*
I did but as of right now, they're still for the 2012

Yea, most of these places are telling me they "just opened up" some spots.
