New Mini Owner In California

Hello,

I finally got my wife a Mini Clubman that she wanted. It's a lease return and is still under the factory warranty for another four months. It's got 32,000 miles on it and runs great.

I turned down the extended warranty when I bought it, but I can still get it before 10/31/12. Since we will not be putting on more than a few thousand miles a year, do we really need their extended warranty?

I came upon this forum while researching Mini's and really liked it - so I joined.

Thanks - Frank

Below is a photo of my wife's car.

I have already bought some things for the Mini. I got some rubber Mini S mats - 10 year old son, and I've ordered a passenger's side visor.

We haven't named the car but if my wife wants to name then so be it.

I have driven it and it is a blast.

The forum has been a lot of help to me already, I hope to learn more.

Clubman's Rule

The members here are VERY helpfull.
There also Clubman forums here inside NAM.
Glad you got the S model, Your son will be eyeing this when he turns 16
You can look under the forums and then the 2nd generation, then search for Clubmans they have there very own forums !!
Great looking Clubman by the way. Like the window tint, it is a must on the Clubmans with all of the windows to help keep the heat out. I went with Limo tint on the sunroofs that works very well.
I know you will enjoy the Clubman, let us know what your wife names it.
The forums are located at the top left just under North American Motoring logo, inside the black bar.
Happy Motoring.

I was thinking about getting Limo tint on the sunroof glass, but have read horror stories about the heat causing the glass to break - how long have you had your tint on? We have the ZippeeShade on it now, but I like using the sunroof and the shade makes it impossible.

I've visited the Clubman forum on here and I have even posted a few times trying to get out of neutral. There is a lot of knowledge on here which really helps us new owners..

My ten year old son loves the Mini, but he wants Dad’s other dark gray vehicle – my 2003 Supercharged SVT F-150 Lightning seen below.

Limo tint

I have had my in on for about 1.5 years now and have not had any problems to date.

I know he will love the truck untill he has to fill it up a few times.
I had a F150 SuperCrew XLT myself, but at 18 MPG all of the time I got rid of it. I now have a VERY fun car to drive and it gets just about 30MPG.

You should check into the MINI clubs in your area, they are a Blast and you meet all kinds of people, from all walks of life.

Clubbies are the way to go.

MINI Takes the States is coming up soon you might check into that festival also.

I purchased my MINI through MINI financing so they send me all that stuff - matter of fact I got the invite to "MINI Takes The Coast" today.

I really enjoy driving the MINI but I bought it for my wife so she gets to drive it when she wants. She also has a Toyota Highlander Limited full time four wheel drive for soccer mom stuff that will free up the MINI once in awhile.
